L’occitane Ultra Rich Body Cream Review

loccitane ultra rich body butter

Claims : The Ultra Rich Body Cream is a complete body care treatment for dry to very dry skin. Exceptionally concentrated in shea butter (25%), it intensely nourishes and protects the skin and helps to restore the hydrolipidic film. Enriched with moisturising extracts (linseed, marshmallow, sweet almond and honey) and softening apricot oil, it durably hydrates for 24 hours and makes skin soft and supple. The rich and smooth texture is easy to apply and is quickly absorbed without leaving any greasy film.

This product is free from: synthetic colorants, animal ingredients, formol or formaldehyde, phtalates, triclosan, BHA, BHT.

Price : Rs 2,650 for 200ml

My Experience: I am always on a look out for products for dry skin. When I read ’25 % shea butter and ultra rich’ on L’occitane’s body cream’s jar, it sounded music to my ears. 😛 It is a huge jar of super luxurious body cream. I have to say it is EXCELLENT. I basically like everything about it:

  • It is a rich body cream but does not feel heavy or greasy at all.
  • It gets absorbed within seconds and keeps the skin super moisturized for entire day.
  • It has a very mild comforting fragrance that lingers on for a while. I don’t know but it smells a bit like babies to me -warm and sort of sleepy. 😛
  • It tackles dryness of knees and elbows.
  • It spreads easily. You dont need a ton of product to use in one go.
  • The 25% shea butter actually works.Plus it includes a lot of goody good oils that help in keeping skin hydrated and moisturized for all day long.
The only cons would be the tub packaging. But oh well! I’d live with it. 😛

  1. I know this is completely off the topic but did I hear correct?!
Did Sephora open in Delhi 4 days back?!
    For real?!
    Omg!! 😮

    1. Yes Angela! Sephora is finally here! Yippe! 😀 😀 😀
It’s first store opened at Select City Walk Mall. Sephora Delhi store also carries brands like Stila, Benefit, Bliss, Nuxe etc.

  2. Hey Ratii..Im coming to India tomorrow InshAllah 🙂 I really want to try the Forest essential skincare products 🙂 Could you plz tell me what are the must haves from that brand ? 🙂

  3. Rati, it’s always good to see you review products. Having been a reader of yours from early 2010, I miss the frequency of your review posts. Reading you makes me feel like a feeling of being at home. 🙂 btw, Accutane never fails to impress right. Lusting after them but way beyond my budget. Nevertheless treat for the.eyes!

  4. *loccitane. Currently making do with dove intense/indulgent moisturizing lotion in Shea butter. Hydrates all day. Great for winters.

    1. I was thinking of picking up dove moisturizer myself. i’d do so now. An extra body lotion for winters never hurts :))

yeah frequency has become less but I am always around.Thanks. :))

    1. I dint realize I took such a long break from reviews. 😛 Guess would do more now. lol!! Now that the festivals are done, I can happily do lots of winter FOTDs. :))

    1. most of the products do have parabens. Parabens are used as preservatives in most products. We can mostly look at the good part and move ahead. try FE products if you are super particular.

  5. RAti, loved seeing ur review after a looong time 🙂 and ur reviews are always tempting (which is why am now the proud owner of FE skincare and hair care 🙂 ) Lovely pics and superb review 🙂
And I too am looking fwd to reading the Kumkumadi Tailam review… 🙂

  6. Smells like babies?? :O
I dont need any other pro points 😀
Great review Rati! The price is definitely on the higher side but I can see how its worth it 🙂
