Hi Rati and Gang,

I have 2 small queries, hope youย  people give me your inputs.

1.At present I use Revlon Colorstay for my lips(I don’t like to do touch ups in btw),but it becomes dry after sometime. Can you guys suggest some good(economical) lipstick which stays on for atleast 4-5 hrs without being dry?

2.I have an oily skin and I use lakme creme compact. For my skin type which is best compact ,should i go powder based or liquid based?

Looking forward to your feedback.

  1. u can try avon 3 in 1 compact!
    lakme radiance compact
i think even lotus has a compact!

well i think compact is not creamy! neways oily skins should go for “loose powders” or pressed power!

the one i mentioned above wud be suitable to your skin! me too having oily skin! :-))

loose powders are also good! they control oil and some also hide imperfections with light to medium coverage!
you can start with lakme rose powder ! and GIODANI GOLD (by oriflame) too has a loose powder for skin which i think is good!

    and even avon has one!
    hope it helped!!!! ๐Ÿ˜•

  2. hi,
u can try maybelline dream matt powder(somewhere around rs 350) or white stay uv compact(rs 150)..both work for me( i have combination oily skin)
i love revlon colorburst lipsticks (rs 550) they have been reviewed here (the shade peach looks awesome on the lovely rati ).they stay easily for about 3-4 hrs (on my lips)

  3. Hi all…does anybody have Maybelline ‘Pleasure Me Red’ lipstick….?? its from their color sensational range i think…any reviews there???…any recs for suitable reds??(not those tomato reds…they look cheeky ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

    1. MAC does this amazing brick red called chili – MAC describes it as brownish orange-red ……

Revlon Color burst lippies also have a really nice Red called true red -which to me is along the lines of MACs Russian Red or Ladybug (which to me is what you call cheeky tomato red)

Sorry I havent checked out the Maybelline reds :-((

  4. The best way of making a lipstick last long is using a lipliner underneath it, not sure which brand would be best though……

For oily skin, a powder compact is best because it would help with blotting. I didnt quite understand what you meant by a liquid compact!?, did u mean foundation instead?

  5. Hi All,

Thanks for all the ideas ๐Ÿ™‚
    Gr8 rati…never see such fast response ๐Ÿ˜Ž
For lipstick….I have decided to go revlon colourblust(I luv the packing)and just thinking of giving lotus a try(I am not sure where to find them in blore, can anyone guide me).

Still little confused on the compact, probably try maybelline(bored of lakme ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

My shopping list is read :chic:

    Thanks all.
    Love,

  7. Hi Padmini,
    Thanks for the info.
I stay in whitefield…any palce near to this.
Does health and glow stock them?

    Bye,
    Teju :-))

  8. Hi Teju…For your oily skin, you can use a powder foundation, it will give you coverage + matte effect. Or else, try a gel based foundation and cover it with pressed powder. MAC has Studio Finish Powder + Foundation and for good coverage without the oiliness you can also try The Body Shop All in One Face Base. For long staying lipsticks, are you using the Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid lipcolours? If so, when your lips start feeling dry after a couple of hours, try applying a lip balm on your lips, over these lip colours.

  9. For long staying lipsticks u can try MAC’s pro longwear…the ones with color on one end and a clear gloss at the other….trust me the color just doesn’t come off…u will need a makeup remover for waterproof makeup to get that one off…!!
