Lorac Aura Color Source Buildable Blush Review

Hello everyone,

How are you all doing? I am sorry for being MIA for some time now. I have been very much involved with the Eid festivities and also with moving to a new home. Can you believe I probably had more makeup boxes to move than boxes of clothes!! 😛 Life of a makeup addict! Anyway, once I settle in and get back into the groove, you will be seeing a lot more of my reviews.  This review will be on the Lorac Color Source Buildable Blush in the shade “Aura.”

My Experience with Lorac Aura Color Source Buildable Blush:

Packaging:  I love how modern and sleek this packaging is. The round gunmetal blush compact has a see-through lid and color coordinated sticker on the bottom for easy storage. It has a magnetic closure. The compact case has a very expensive feel but it does attract finger prints. The only con here is there is no mirror in the compact but I don’t mind that.

Texture:  If you are familiar with Lorac eyeshadows, you can already assess how this blush feels like. This blush has the same incredibly smooth and soft feel as the shadows. It’s not chalky or dry, but just like the eyeshadows, this blush does tend to kick up powder when you dip your brush in. It is best to tap off the excess of the brush before applying.

Pigmentation:  True to its name, these blushes are buildable. I feel like I have great control with these blushes and it is not easy to go overboard. You can give yourself a nice subtle flush of color in one layer or build it up to full intensity and get bright bold cheeks in 2-3 layers. The layers apply seamlessly over one another and it never goes on patchy or uneven.

Finish:  These blushes come in 2 finishes – matte and satin, which is clearly indicated. I got 3 shades in these ranges which are all matte. I love using matte blushes as I can customize the finish by wearing it on its own or adding a highlighter on top.  Even with these matte finish, this blush does not look flat on the skin.

Shade:  The shade “Aura” is a gorgeous deep warm mauve-y pink. This is the most flattering shade out of the bunch that I own and it literally looks good with every makeup look. It gives just the right amount of color to bring life to your face yet it remains understated so as to give other aspects of your makeup to take center stage. This shade will look good on all skin tones.

Staying Power:  The staying power of this blush is average. I did notice fading around 6 hours into wear. It does not accentuate pores or dryness on my skin.

Lorac Aura Color Source Buildable Blush blushes

Overall, I love these new blushes by Lorac. I wouldn’t say these are “perfection” in a pan and best blushes I have used but they are good enough and worth the money. They have a beautiful range of shades with different finishes. I will recommend these.
