I am a huge highlighter fanatic. I probably have more highlighters than I could use in a lifetime but I still keep hoarding more. Recently I hauled all 4 shades currently offered of the Lorac Light source illuminating Highlighters. This review will be on the shade Daylight.
Product Description: Instantly bring luminosity and life to your face with Lorac Light Source Highlighter. These paraben-free, high-pearl highlighters are infused with anti-aging antioxidants and light diffusing, soft focus pigments for a silky-smooth, luminous glow. This illuminating, complexion-enhancing formula can be worn sheer for a soft, natural sheen or layered for a high-shine, dramatic effect. Become a beautiful, sensual source of light with Lorac.
My Experience with Lorac Light Source Illuminating Highlighter Daylight:
Packaging: The packaging is similar to the Lorac Color Source Buildable Blushes which I had reviewed here on IMBB a while back. The case is sleek, compact yet sturdy. I love the see-through top and the sticker denoting the shade below. The case closes securely. If I liked the Lorac color source blushes, I love love these highlighters by them.
Texture: These highlighters are a very smooth, finely milled powder. They are more powdery and lack the touch of creaminess that one might notice with the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Perfector, but that doesn’t make these Lorac highlighters any less effortless in terms of application. They glide on buttery smooth and work well with both of my highlighting brushes (which are Wayne Goss Brush 15 and Real Techniques Setting Brush).
Pigmentation: I love the fact that these highlighters are easy to build. You can easily control the amount of glow you want, ranging from subtle to full party glow. I find the intensity much easier to control than with my Becca highlighters which gives me an intense glow even when I am not necessarily looking for one.
Shade: Now that we are on the page of comparing these highlighters to Becca ones, let’s do the same for the shade. The shade Daylight is a soft pale gold with a warm undertone. This shade will suit all skin tones in my opinion. I find this to be the most similar to the ever popular Becca Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed – Champagne Pop. The only difference being that the Becca highlighter yields a stronger metallic glow and has much more apparent shimmer (which are still not what I would term as chunky) while the Lorac one has finer shimmer particles. Also, Becca Champagne pop has a touch of rose gold to it. But, when applied on the skin, they look very similar.
Staying power: This highlighter has a pretty good staying power on my skin. It stays without fading for 6-7 hours. It does not emphasize the texture of the skin or look of pores nor does it cling to any dry patches.
I am also pleased with the fact that this product comes with a decent price tag so if you were looking for a dupe for Becca Champagne Pop, you can get this for a considerable difference in price. Overall, I am very pleased with this product. I absolutely have no hesitation recommending it.
