Lorac Light Source Starlight Illuminating Highlighter Review

Hello everyone,

It’s no secret that I love highlighters and neither is the fact that these new Lorac highlighters have secured a special place in my makeup kit. I have all the 4 shades (Twilight, Daylight, Moonlight)  currently offered in this range and love every single one of them. This review will be on the shade “Starlight.”

My Experience with Lorac Light Source Starlight Illuminating Highlighter:

Packaging:  The packaging of this highlighter is similar to Lorac Color Source Buildable blushes. The case is sleek, compact yet sturdy. I love the see-through top and the sticker denoting the shade below which makes easy storage. I liked the Lorac Color Source blushes, I love loe these highlighters by them!

Texture:  This highlighter is a very smooth, finely milled powder. It’s way more powdery and lacks a touch of creaminess that one might notice with the Becca shimmering skin perfector, but that doesn’t make these Lorac highlighters any less effortless in terms of application. It glides on buttery smooth and works well with both of my highlighting brushes (Wayne Goss Brush 15 and Real Techniques Setting Brush). There is a slight amount of kickback when you dip your brush in.

Pigmentation:  The pigmentation of this highlighter is easy to build. You can easily control the amount of glow you want, ranging from subtle to full party glow. These highlighters are simply effortless to work with.

Shade:  The shade “Starlight” is a beige-toned pale gold highlight. I feel it would be very similar in tone to Becca Moonstone, which unfortunately, I do not own. I feel this shade would look most flattering on pale all the way up to medium skin tones. Deeper skin tones can rock this too, provided you go light handed, as you don’t want a stark light beige stripe on your cheeks. It yields the most beautiful glow without looking over the top or too shimmery.

Staying Power:  This highlighter has a pretty good staying power on my skin. It stays without fading for 6-7 hours. It does not emphasize the texture of the skin or look of pores nor does it cling to any dry patches. I am also pleased with the fact that this product comes with a decent price tag for this superb quality product. Overall, I am very pleased with this product. I absolutely have no hesitation recommending it; you cannot go wrong with any of the shade offered in this range.
