Lorac Touch Up To Go Concealer Foundation Pen

Product Description:

What it is:

A versatile two-in-one concealer/foundation pen that covers imperfections for a long-wearing, natural finish.  This oil-, paraben-, and fragrance-free formula is infused with vitamins A and E, acai berry, and white and green tea to help promote a healthy and youthful-looking complexion. Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, this concealer/foundation pen provides medium coverage.  It is formulated without phthalates.

This is perfect for the girl on the go! I can do my makeup in seconds with this 2-in-1 pen and it’s so versatile: I use it all over my face as foundation and concealer, or simply as concealer with my favorite Lorac foundation. You can also use it as a spotting technique to cover under eye-circles and imperfections. Tip:  Use CF5 Peach on medium or olive skins to lighten and brighten under eye-circles (peach corrects and conceals blue). And with a built-in brush that does all the work for you, there’s no need to spend money on a foundation brush. It is truly the fastest and easiest way to do your makeup and make your skin look picture-perfect.”— Carol Shaw, Creator of LORAC

Packaging:

Lorac Touch Up To Go Concealer comes in a fun grey color pen tube. It has a snap on cap which fits tightly which is perfect for when you are on the go (hence the name). Just like a pen, it has a button on the back which you need to click in order to get the product out. It also comes with a build-in brush tip and they claim you would not need a separate brush. It is designed for quick application, just click, brush on, blend and go.

My Experience with Lorac Touch Up To Go Concealer/Foundation Pen:

I have had my eye on this product for quite some time now, but just never got around to buying it because I was never sure which shade to buy since they only have 3 choices. Thanks to IMBB, I finally got around to buying it and decided to buy the lightest shade there and luckily that shade worked for me. At first, I thought this shade was too light for me, but once blended, it was just fine.

It claims to be a foundation AND a concealer, but I only use this as a concealer because as a foundation, it would be too light for me. If I was to use this as a foundation, I would need to buy the medium tone shade and mix them together since the color selection is limited.

The concealer goes on very smoothly, almost velvety (if that makes any sense). The pen clicker dispenses a little product at a time into the brush which is highly convenient. That way you use all that it dispenses without wasting any extra product that you may not need anymore.

This concealer gives me decent amount of coverage. It is a very light formula and building on it seems just impossible. It covers up my blemishes and marks decently and it even works really well for my dark eye circles which I get occasionally but my circles are not too intense. Though it covers up mine, I can 100% guarantee that it will not work for people with heavy and dark eye bags, the formula is just way too thin. Yes, you can try to build up the coverage by applying more on top but even then I think that it not enough, I just feel that this is not buildable at all.

At first I thought the whole built-in brush thing was a good idea. I swept it under my eyes and it went on very nice and smoothly, the bristles were very soft. Though I still had to blend in the edges with my fingers, but I usually do that with all the concealers I use regardless of brush or not, so it was not a big deal. When I picked it up to use the next day, the brush had hardened up because of the leftover product. Also, cleaning up the brush made me doubt that water would get inside the tube, so I was left with the option with spot cleaning but still I do not consider that very hygienic. Now what I do is, I do not use the brush, I cleaned it up nicely and now I just use my fingers or a separate brush.

The lasting power of this concealer is my most favorite thing about this foundation. Though it is a thin and light formula, it tends to stay on my face throughout the day. I should mention that I set it with a translucent powder to set it in place which makes it look ever flawless and lasts me till the end of the day. I was super shocked because I did not think this would ever last me that long since it’s not full coverage or anything.

Overall, it’s a decent product but there are better concealers out there, no doubt. So, make your choice wisely – if you have natural skin with a few to zero blemishes, then you will like this product. On the other hand, if you have dark and pigmented blemishes and heavy dark eye bags, then skip this.

Pros of Lorac Touch Up To Go Concealer/Foundation Pen:

  • Smooth formula.
  • Creamy formula.
  • Covers up light blemishes.
  • Perfect for those who do not have that many spots to cover up.
  • Perfect for basic highlighting under eyes.
  • Long lasting (tried and tested and will last all day long for people with combination skin).
  • Travel friendly, very convenient.
  • Can be used as foundation as well (if you find your perfect shade).
  • Perfect for those who like thin and light coverage foundations.
  • Clicker dispenses just the right amount of product, never too much.
  • The brush maybe convenient for some people.

Cons of Lorac Touch Up To Go Concealer/Foundation Pen:

  • Too thin consistency, (can be a problem for many, like me).
  • Not a full coverage concealer nor foundation.
  • You cannot build this product up to full coverage.
  • Concealer dries up in the brush which causes it to harden.
  • Brush is hard to clean.
  • Not many shades to choose from, it’s very hard to find your perfect matching color.

Would I Repurchase Lorac Touch Up To Go Concealer/Foundation Pen?

No, I do not think I would purchase this because this isn’t really my type of product. Though I will finish my product up because it isn’t that bad, but repurchasing is not an option for me. I would rather go and buy another brand.

Would I Recommend Lorac Touch Up To Go Concealer/Foundation Pen?

Well, if you are looking for a light coverage concealer, which can give you a natural non-cakey look, then maybe you should give it a try. In my opinion, concealers are to cover up blemishes and spots that you don’t want to be seen, therefore medium to heavy concealer is required and this does not deliver those results, so choose wisely! As far as highlighting goes, this one is perfect for that, so I can recommend this for highlighting.
