L’Oreal Absolut Repair Cellular Lactic Acid Hair Masque

By Rituparna Sengupta

Hello Beauties,

Hope you all are enjoying the monsoons. I love the rainy season. But I hate the hair problems that I have during this period. I have fine, wavy hair with a little frizz. But during monsoon my hair becomes very dry and too frizzy to control. So I am always in a search for shampoos, conditioners and hair masques that will take away the dryness and tame the frizz. How I wish to have silky tresses like Rapunzel! In quest for a product that can do wonders this time I got myself Loreal Absolut Repair Cellular Lactic Acid hair masque. It is a repairing masque for very damaged hair. I like masques meant for damaged hair because they contain lesser harsh chemicals. I am using this product for few weeks. So, today I am going to share my experiences with you. This is my second review with IMBB. Feeling excited.

Packaging:

The packaging is similar to other hair masques by Loreal. It comes inside a plastic tub. Though I don’t like tub packaging especially in showers but the better side of such packaging is, the whole product can be used. The product is thick in consistency. So it does not slip while applying with wet hands.

What They Claim To Do:
The formula with Lactic Acid, instantly conditions damaged hair and leaves hair feeling stronger, more supple and looking shiny as if transformed. Lactic Acid is able to create saline bonds between the keratin chains exposed in the cortex of damaged hair fibres.

Direction for use:

Apply and work into shampood and towel-dried hair. Leave on for 2 minutes. Rinse. In case of contact with eyes, rinse them immediately.

My take on L’Oreal Absolut Repair Cellular Lactic Acid Hair Masque

First time I used the product according to the direction given, kept for two minutes and rinsed thoroughly. I was disappointed with the results. It did nothing to my hair. Even a normal smoothing conditioner would have given better results than that. But I did not give up my hope. Next time I shampooed my hair and while slightly damp, applied the masque generously. After that I wrapped up a hot towel for 20 minutes and rinsed with cold water. This time the results were impressive. Hair felt so soft and smooth. They became tangle free and easy to comb. Though it did not take away the frizz totally, it helped to control the frizz to some extent. After single use I went on without any hair-woes for 3 days. Then again I reapplied. This time I incorporated my conditioner in between shampooing and applying masque. This time the frizz was completely controlled. Again the effect lasted for 3-4 days. The fragrance is very mild and only noticeable while applying. Till now I am happy with the results. It is no miraculous product that will transform the hair from very first wash. But with regular usage it will deliver what it claims.

Now summing up the pros and the cons:

Pros of L’Oreal Absolut Repair Cellular Lactic Acid Hair Masque

Lesser harsh chemical ingredients.
Contains UV filter, Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate to save hair from sun damage.

Tub packaging for total utilization of the product.
Thick consistency makes it easier to use during shower.
Mild fragranced. I love mild fragranced and fragrance free beauty products.

Will I repurchase L’Oreal Absolut Repair Cellular Lactic Acid Hair Masque?

No. There are better options available within this price range. Also I will keep searching for my HG hair masque. I know it’s not going to be an easy journey.

    1. This masque did not cause hairfall. But the claim to transform hair did not turn out true, atleast for me. Glad that I didn’t try shampoo from this range.

  1. hey nice review…. the only thing which keeps me away from such masque is the chemical content… but using it once in a month wont do much harm i guess

    1. Thank you. Me too try to restrict these for twice a month. But humidity makes my hair more dry and frizzy after shampooing. Then comes the masque for my rescue. Some succeeds and some not. *nababana*

    1. Lucky them. The masque is not bad but the only thing I wanted to stress out is the fact that for good results it needs to be on my hair for 15-20 mins. I wanted it to work after 2 mins as per their instruction. Other than that it is a decent masque that takes care of my hairy woes. 🙂

  2. Lactic acid is very much effective for dry hair…I have used many conditioners n hair masks even expensive ones for my super dry hair but none worked to my expectations. So, I decided to give curd or yoghurt a try…n both worked amazingly. Afterall, curd is the richest n the purest source of lactic acid.So I think instead of wasting money on these expensive products,I prefer to try the basic things which are cheaper n free from side effects.

  3. i have used it .. and i have repurchased it many times.. I think this one works great.. Makes my hair really soft and silky smooth..
I tried many others..none worked like this one.. i think i am going to get it again.. i miss it so much 😀

  4. Nice review neha 🙂 I’m too lazy to apply hair masques 😛 but my hair have been giving me trouble lately so i better get one soon… I’ve used shampoo-conditioner from this range and didn’t like it so didn’t think the masque would do any good too 😀

But thanks for the review *puchhi* i will pick it up now fearlessly 😛
