Today, I am going to review a new mascara, which I wanted to get since the time it was launched. Unfortunately, I couldn’t buy it at that time and I purchased it only recently. It is “L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Intenza Mascara”. I ripped open the package in the store itself . I was very excited to feel the wand and use it. But this mascara let me down. Yes! My take on L’Oreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara Blackest Black:
The applicator is very soft. It has very smooth and thin bristles, which separates the lashes. The difference between this mascara and the original butterfly mascara is the brush. Butterfly intenza is supposed to give more volume to the lashes compared to the original one. It actually increases the length of the lashes but at the same time, there is clumping of the lashes as well.
The texture of the mascara is very creamy. It is possible that because of this it thickens the lashes. I tried applying this mascara after curling my lashes as well, but still it doesn’t work for my eyes. It takes a little longer time to dry compared to all other mascaras I have ever tried. Next thing is fallout. Once the mascara dries out, we can see the fallout or black spots near the cheeks.
Best way to apply:
Since I expected a lot from this mascara, I somehow wanted this to work for me. So I tried different ways to apply and at the same time, I wanted the mascara to give me more volume and no clumping as well. What I did is I removed the excess mascara in the brush and then I tried post that with little mascara on the wand. Yes, the results were better than before. With one coat, it gave me nice volume and no clumping too. It actually increased the length of my lashes. It doesn’t curl the lashes, so I recommend using an eyelash curler.
Overall, L’Oreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara Blackest Black did not meet my expectation.
Pros of L’Oreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara Blackest Black:
- Very creamy in texture
- It increases the length of the lashes
- Gives nice black color to the lashes
- Gives nice volume to the lashes when applied after removing excess product from the wand
Cons of L’Oreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara Blackest Black:
- The mascara thickens in the first coat itself.
- It is not waterproof
- There is fallout later
- It is not really worth the money

That`s such a disappointment – I always thought loreal made the best mascara – and their serum infused double tube mascara was the best…It`s a pity that they discontinued it…
