I recently started venturing into eye makeup and hence decided to invest in an eye makeup remover. I saw the L’Oréal Paris Clean Artiste Waterproof and Long Wearing Eye Makeup Remover on the supermarket shelves and thought to give it a try. Read on to find out how it fared.
$6.99; prices may vary from store to store.
Clean Artiste Waterproof and Long Wearing Eye Makeup Remover instantly dissolves every trace of eye makeup, even long-wearing foundations and waterproof mascaras, while gently conditioning your lashes. Won’t leave a filmy or oily residue on the skin. Dermatologist and ophthalmologist-tested. Non-irritating. Non-comedogenic.
My Experience with L’Oreal Clean Artiste Waterproof and Long Wearing Eye Makeup Remover:
Packaging: This eye makeup remover comes in a cute green-colored plastic bottle. The bottle is transparent and that helps to know how much product is still remaining.
It has a very unique child-proof type of cap; I say unique because this kind of mechanism is widely used in medicine bottles, but I have never seen it in any cosmetics. Of course, it helps to make the bottle completely spill-proof. For those of you who are not familiar with this mechanism, you need to first press the cap down and then rotate to open it. There is a picture of how to do it on the cap itself.
Formula/Performance: This makeup remover comes in a dual phase (oil + water) formula. You need to shake it well before using it.
The makeup remover does its job pretty well. It removes most makeup in one swipe. Even waterproof mascaras come off easily without any extra rubbing.
It does not leave the eyes sore or stinging, but their claim of zero oily residue is not exactly true as it does leave behind an oily deposit. Now, this is fine if you are going to wash your face after removing the makeup. But, it might not be the best option to use if you are going in for some touch ups.
One more con is that the two phases separate very quickly. This means that when you are done with removing makeup on one eye, you will need to put the cap back on, shake the bottle again, press and twist the cap to open the bottle, and then soak some onto the cotton pad. It might not seem much to some, but at the end of a tiring day, every extra step matters 😛 The remover is completely fragrance-free.

- Does not irritate or sting the eyes and hence suitable for sensitive skin.

Cons of L’Oreal Clean Artiste Waterproof and Long Wearing Eye Makeup Remover:
- Leaves behind an oily residue.
- The two phases separate very quickly.
Would I Recommend/Repurchase L’Oreal Clean Artiste Waterproof and Long Wearing Eye Makeup Remover?
This is a good eye makeup remover for those with sensitive skin as it is pretty gentle, but it does leave an oily residue behind and hence I will not go all out to recommend it. I will not repurchase as I do not like the oily residue bit.
