L’Oreal Color Minerals Eyeshadow 08 Golden Olive Review

I barely use shimmer shadows, especially loose ones. This L’Oreal Color Minerals Eyeshadow in Golden Olive was a random purchase in England and recently, I took it out during the “garba” festivities. It’s a gorgeous olive gold color! This is basically a green shadow which smudges out into a greenish golden shimmer on the lids. Take a look:

My Experience with L’Oreal Color Minerals Eyeshadow 08 Golden Olive:

The eyeshadow comes in a unique but slightly annoying packaging. It has a cap, followed by a brush attachment. When you unscrew the brush section, you get to the shadow. The shadow is sitting there sifted through the holes underneath the brush section. You can see a mess out there.

Now figuring out how to use it, this can be used with the nice brush provided but you need to get the powder out, may be at the back of your hand. The shadow is essentially shimmer. You definitely need an eyehsadow base for it to stick on to, otherwise your entire face will be covered in shimmer.

The shimmer when smudged out, turns more gold, only with a tint of olive left to it. You could maybe use it on top of deeper shadows. On its own, on warm skin, this looks very light. The shimmer spreads easily around my eyes. You need to be careful during application too.

The shadow feels light and lasts very average. Without a base, this will be “gone in seconds”. Now coming to the irritating part; I wear lens and my eyes are sensitive. This shimmer irritates my eyes for days on end. It is a disaster for me, hence I will recommend this shadow to no one.

Not at all! In fact, loose shimmer eyeshadows are something I would prefer to stay away from.
