Hello Lovely Ladies!
How is the week coming along for you guys? I am really enjoying the weather these days and eagerly looking forward to Durga Puja! 5 days of playing dress up, bold eye make up, sarees and bindis – and yes lots n lots of food and meeting up with friends 😀
What better way to usher in the festive season than practicing some eye makeup ? I bought this recent L’oreal Color Riche Eye Palette in E7, Lilas Cheri that I wanted to share with you guys – and while I was at it, also decided to do a quick EOTD! Do let me know if you like it 😀
Price: Rs. 770
Packaging: I really love the cute compact packaging of this eyeshadow quad, very easy to slip into the bag. It has a snap lid that stays put, so no chance of spillage there. Me likey!
It also comes with a tiny dual ended brush, a sponge at one end and an angled brush at the other which is pretty much useless.
Coming to the shades, I am a complete sucker for purple eye makeup and have at least 5-6 palettes that I bought just because they had some sort of purple shade in them. I think it looks best with dark eyes and makes them pop. So, when I saw this quad with all shades of purple in it – there was no looking back 🙂
Shade 1: Glittery white shade for higlighting the browbone and inner corners.
Shade 2: Glittery lavender shade that would be great as an overall lid color or just dabbing on the middle of the lid
Shade 3: Slightly shimmery mauve shade for a feminine wash of color over the lids
Shade 4: Dark purple – almost inky purple actually for smoking out the outer corner and also lining the eyes. This is completely matte.
My Experience with L’oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Quad E7 – Lilas Cheri :
This is the first L’oreal eyeshadow that I have used and I must say that I like it. The shades are easy to pick up on a flat brush and very pigmented – especially Shades 1, 3, and 4. The second shade is packs more glitter than pigment, so I think this would work well to add some shine to the lavender shade. I am completely in love with the dark purple shade as its the most pigmented and very versatile. Although the shades are mostly shimmery, they are not chunky or patchy and apply evenly on the lids.
With a primer the shades stay on for 5-6 hours after which they start fading a little, so I can’t say that’s great. When used with a primer they do not crease at all. However, when used without a primer, the second and third shades do not show up very well and look patchy.
I have used only the colors from this palette to create this EOTD. I haven’t even used a kajal, instead just lined my eyes with the dark purple shade. In the pics below, I have only used an eye primer = Mac Painterly Paintpot and the 4 shades from this palette. I have used Shade 3 in the middle of my lid and dabbed shade #2 lightly over it. Then smoked out the inner and outer corners with shade #4. Shade # 1 has been used as a highlighter on the browbone and then I blended all the shades with the Mac 217 brush. Finished it off with loads of mascara.
IMBB Rating: 4/5.
I would say that this is a good and versatile palette for purple lovers like me. You can use it to create some easy daytime as well as bold smoky night time looks. The shades are decently pigmented and complement each other very well – and for people with dark eyes, which is most Indians, this is a great palette to have if you don’t mind the shimmer.
I would be eagerly waiting to hear what you think about the EOTD 🙂
Hope you guys like it! Fingers crossed 😀
