As I said in my earlier review, I am almost dancing up and down with excitement. Very close to Valentine’s Day, L’Oreal Paris has released the much-coveted “Pure Red Lipstick” collection in India. These lipsticks are autographed by seven L’oreal ambassadors and you get to choose the red which suits you most. However, I feel, do we really need to choose? We can have all the seven, right!! And with luxury store brands upping their prices so much, the price of these gorgeous lipsticks seems quite affordable.
L’Oreal Paris starts the new year painting 2015 RED! Presenting the theColor Riche Collection Star range. A rouge for every woman. Discover a shade of red that is as unique as you are! The range includes 7 exquisite matte shades that are chosen by 7 ionic L’Oréal Paris ambassadors. The Collection is created with a revolutionary and innovative formula that delivers bold, luscious color that lasts for a full 6 hours, making it the ultimate beauty indulgence. The range is enriched with new Light Illum complex that delivers a rich matte effect. The Velvet Fusion capsules and Ultra Gliding Shine Oils provide smooth and silky application. Pure pigments deliver intense color and Jojoba oil gives perfect hydration up to 4 hours.

My Experience with L’Oreal Color Riche Pure Reds Star Collection Pure Amaranthe Lipstick:
Pure Amaranthe is picked and signed by L’oreal brand ambassador Gong Li. The lipstick has the same packaging as the “Moisture Matte” lipsticks. It has a transparent cellophane paper to wrap up the lipstick and all details are written on this paper. Inside, it has a color block in the front for easy identification of shade as well as the signature of the ambassador. These brand ambassadors are different in different parts of the world, so it may well be that this shade is signed by someone else in Western nations (Freido Pinto picks this for Western nations and Pure Rouge for Asian countries including India). The lipstick comes in a shiny black packaging, which looks extremely gorgeous and high market to me, and is not a magnet for fingerprints. It shuts with a click and does not cause any mishaps during travels. I have been a bit clumsy with this (could not control my glee, he he he!!!); but no tragedies till now have happened.
Shade: This is a pink-based red – a fuchsia pink (more pink than red). It has a very mild floral fragrance, which does not linger once applied. This will suit most fair to medium skin tones. This is not a pure red, but the shade is pretty as such. The bullet tip is beautifully shaped to provide for easy application and detailing.
Texture: The lipstick is a very moisturising kind of matte. It applies smoothly, though after a few applications, it does seem a bit less creamier; a bit more matte than before. On the lips however it does feel lightweight and very smooth. After 5-10 minutes, it dries down to an almost matte finish, but it is never the extreme kind of matte like MAC Ruby Woo. You may want to prepare your lips well so that no dry areas of lips peep out.
Pigmentation: This shade is a bit less pigmented compared to other shades like Scarleto, Rouge and Garnet. It deposits around 70-80% color in one swipe, and almost full pigmentation in two swipes. It becomes completely opaque and can easily cover any pigmented lips.
Lasting Time: It lasts for 4-5 hours without food, after which it leaves behind a beautiful stain on the lips. With food, the lipstick does not get removed completely, rather it just dulls down a bit. Reapplication will not make it look garish or cakey. In fact, it will only enhance the shine and the moisturisation of the lipstick. Once set, it does not transfer much.

Yes, in fact, I will recommend all the shades to you. For this one, those who want a pink-based red or a “zara hatke” shade, or some of you who are uncomfortable with pure reds may definitely want to try this out. This one is a total beauty!
