This review was long due and I have two of these (don’t ask why) and the one I have photographed is my new piece for the pictures in all its glory and I have been using my old one for quite some time now, but was too messy to click pics for IMBB, hence the seal is on!

Details

L’oreal makes some good eyeshadows I believe, at least the ones that I have are good to me so far. They have been less chalky, less messy and less fallout ones and I am quite pleased with the way they set and kind of become non-smudge-able after a point and you can’t blend them, so that means they do set and have lesser chances of creasing soon on my oily lids. These are not those soft and creamy ones, but little hard-ish on texture, but one which would melt with the application and finally set 😛 I don’t know how to explain, but its not one of those kinds which are really soft, almost creamy.

Azure Blue

The trio has two applicators, one with a pointy end which can be used to outline eyes under the lashline for a smoky effect and perhaps for lining the uppper lash line as a substitute to the regular liner, but just for that just-there dark eye.

Applicators

The trio has a deeper blue, a lighter silvery blue and a brown beige and the finish is almost pearl and no shimmer visible as such. The fallout is minimum too and the shadow is not chalky as well. I have 2 of these as I can’t get enough of the beige shade in here which is too perfect for my skin tone as a very light all-over color, which I can even wear to the grocery store :snicker:

Eyeshadow Trio

The trio is made for blue eyes, I know I don’t have blue eyes, but somehow the blues in here are very wearable and are good enough for Indian skin tones which I feel can carry this kind of a blue.  The deeper blue in this would look really good when used as a smudged eyeliner and under the kohl. The dark blue would also be great to fill in the crease and smudged and very good for the cut crease look where you can perhaps use the beige in here for all over the lid.

Loreal eyeshadow

For regular usage, I fill the inner half of the lid with the beige, try to lightly fill the outer half with the light blue and use the deeper blue to create contour and outer V (I am not good at it, so I mainly use it in the crease).

The other option is to use it the way mentioned on the pack. All in all, it’s a very versatile trio and the beige in it is very good for highlighting under the arch of the brow too.

Swatches 1

It dropped once and you can see in the picture how the trio came out of the base, but did not break! Lovely as well as sturdy packaging definitely.

Loreal eyeshadow trio

The staying power is a good four hours without base and these are more pigmented and smooth and not chalky.

Last Word:

I love all the colors in this trio, good for Indian skin tone and can never get enough of the beige color in this.  These are very smooth and no fallout and have a pearl finish to them (not really shimmery or metallic, so even matte lovers would love it).

Swatches 2

The applicators are also of some use to me for under the lower lash.  These show up light in the swatch, but in person, they are much more pigmented and glide on easily; just be fast with the blending as they do set soon.

Do I Recommend L’oreal ColorAppeal Trios:

Yes! I do and may be you can find better colors to your taste. These are definitely good and the texture is lovely.
