L’Oreal Colour Riche Balm – Heavenly Berry Review

L’Oreal Colour Riche Balm – Heavenly Berry Review

By Fahveen

Time to review another product from my drugstore haul. It is going to a lip balm from L’Oreal Color Riche range. I wanted to try this one as it was very similar to Revlon lip butters. Let’s dive little deep to find how it scored.

L’Oreal Colour Riche Balm Heavenly Berry Review

What L’Oreal Website Says:

Indulge your lips with Color Riche Balm. The tined SPF 15 lip balm provides a hint of luscious, kissable color, smoothing lips instantly and for a full 8  hours of continuous hydration. Lips are softer and more supple all day long – and keeps conditioning even after it’s been removed.  It is available in 8 shades. The shade that I am going to review here is Heavenly Berry.

Packaging:

I have to confess one main reason to get this lip balm is the classy and rich look packaging. It is cute, sleek and attractive. It looked exactly like something I would like to have in my bag. It is a square tube with a color coordinated cap and as other tube lip balm, twist – up balm.

Heavenly Berry 1

Texture:

The texture is really soft and smooth that glides on my lips well. Something like a lip butter which I like.

Wearability:

It hydrates my lips well. It gives a comfortable feel to my lips, though it is not a lightweight lip balm. It has no shimmer but gives a glossy finish when applied. It has SPF 15 which is a welcome feature. It claims 8 hours of continuous hydration which is not true. It lasted for a while, but not for 8 hours. So, definitely not after it is removed.

Heavenly Berry 2

Coverage:

It is a very sheer in pigmentation.  I found it buildable. For those with less pigmentation on your lips, you may see a bigger difference in color, but for those with more pigmentation on your lips, you may not see much difference at all. Even after repeated swiping, I just saw a slight tint of color on my lips.

Fragrance:

This lip balm has a wonderful formula in terms of fragrance. It smells like berries. Heavenly just like the name suggests.

Price:

$8 for 2 gm.

Pros of L’Oreal Colour Riche Balm – Heavenly Berry:

  • Attractive packaging.
  • Glides smoothly on my lips.
  • Moisturizes well.
  • Smell is divine.
  • Has SPF 15.
  • No shimmers.

Cons of L’Oreal Colour Riche Balm – Heavenly Berry:

  • Quantity is very less, 2 gm for $8.
  • No good color pay off.
  • 8 hours hydration claim is not true.
  • Non-availability in India.

Verdict:

They condition the lips well and have a great packaging. Do you think it’s worth the money? For me, it’s a no.

  1. welcome to imbb favheen. Guess all the brands are coming up with their own version of lip balms. Like this one but sad it is not great on pigmentation!! 🙁 Love the review. 🙂

  2. I love the shade because ,may be because it goes sheer and buildable at the same time.. am not much comfortable with dark/bright lips ! But yes they could be a bit less pricy ,more so considering it as a balm ! 🙁
    Nice review Favheen 🙂

    1. I have swiped repeatedly to get that colour…may 5 – 6 times… Even after repeated swipes, it may still not show up on most Indian skin…

  3. when i saw the first pic i thought the color would look beautiful……..but was a little disappointed to see that it doesn’t show much on lips…..

  4. Fahveen, very nice review. I completely agree that these are not worth the money, I was very eager to buy them, but when I swatched some of them at the store I was very disappointed 🙁
