This post is about the latest addition to my lip collection and I am really excited to write about it because it is an amazing, hydrating formula which is an amalgam of lip balm and color pigments. There are several pigmented lip balms in the market by brands like Maybelline, Covergirl and so on, but they are not as long lasting or pigmented as this particular product. Keep reading to know more about it.

My Experience with L’Oreal Colour Riche Fiery Red Balm Pop:

Packaging: The lipstick comes in a steel tube and has a plastic cap in the color of lipstick shade. ‘The balm’ is written on the cap and the lipstick shade name is at the bottom. I like the packaging – attractive and serves the purpose.

Texture: It is very creamy and smooth to apply, reminds me of the moisturizing lip balms, but it gets applied easily and moisturizes the lips too. One can apply this with a single swipe if one wants to use it as a lip balm alone, or with multiple swipes to get a deeper intensity of color.

Color: Like the shade name, it is red in color, but as it is apparent from the swatches, it is not very pigmented like our regular lip colors. It compensates for this with its amazing hydration properties.

Pigmentation: Not as pigmented because of obvious reasons, but there is an advantage! Since it is not as intense, one can wear this red color on daily basis. One can wear it for a day look, without looking too dolled up and for a night look, one can wear a red lip liner underneath to intensify the color. The color on its own is not enough to cover my lip pigmentation, but still looks pretty.

Shimmer and Shine: It has a creamy shine, just how lip balms are supposed to have. But, no shimmer to make it look garish or glamorous! One can apply a clear, shimmery lip gloss on top to add more shine to the lips.

Fragrance: The product has a very subtle floral fragrance which I like since it doesn’t bother me too much and fades away eventually.

Wear Time: It stays put for a long time, however, touch ups are needed in between meals; since it is so creamy it gets transferred easily.

Conclusion: This product is a lovely concept which is hydrating and pigmented at the same time – this product has the goodness of both lip balm and lipstick. It has six shades to choose from and all of them are beautiful shades of red, corals and mauves and will suit all types of skin tone. The texture of the product feels lighter than most of the lipsticks and glides very easily on lips and drenches them in pretty color.

• One needs touch ups in between meals

Would I Repurchase L’Oreal Colour Riche Fiery Red Balm Pop?
Yes and would try to stock up all 6 shades. All those who love to wear lipsticks on regular basis, but shy away from intense colors should buy these lip beauties.
