L’oreal De-maq Expert Elixir Concentrate Ultra Make-up Remover

I’m reviewing my HG makeup remover..

L'oreal De-maq expert Elixir Concentrate Ultra Make-up RemoverPrice: Rs 600 for 100ml. Though I feel the price must have increased now; I’m not sure.

It says- for water proof and long lasting cosmetics. Our most concentrated formula in makeup removing ingredients. Satin-soft touch for face, eyes and lips. Skin tolerance dermatologicalyy tested. Cutting edge makeup removing technology. Respect for all skin types, unique texture which leaves skin silky soft. Inspired by the needs of makeup artists. Reported effectiveness, tested under dermatological and opthalmological control.

Ingredients

Caprylic/capric triglyceride, isohexadecane, ethylhexyl stearate, glycerine, PEG-20 glyceryl trisostearate, dicapryryl ether, water, PEG-20 methyl glucosesesquistearate, tocopheryl acetate, CI47005/acid yellow3, fragrance, benzyl salicyclate benzyl benzoate, hydroxycitronellal, citronellol, limonene

Now let’s come to my experience and views
About the ingredients I do not have in depth knowledge, but I can’t see all the usual infamous baddies (mineral oils , parabens etc) here unless its named in some other complicated form..if u happen to see any, plz do not hesitate to enlighten me. I’m ignorant in this department or too lazy to check for each ingredient online before buying 😛
But I definitely feel that the colour and perfume could have been easily avoided.

It has an almost transperant colour so don’t know why limonene or some such colouring agent is used as it can be viewed only when its collectively in the pack. The colour comes across as greyish beige in the tube.

The packaging is a plastic squeezy tube with a flip cap and it closes with the most satisfying click all of which successfully  fullfills the parameters and is hygienic, user friendly and all that jazz 🙂

But the mysterious part is I doesn’t ever spill in my bag and all BUT if I happen to keep it near my wash basin water somehow seeps in which is not good for this product read on and i’ll tell you why

This is what it looks like:
L’OREAL DE-MAQ EXPERT ELIXIR CONCENTRATE ULTRA MAKEUP REMOVER

How to Use

Apply a small amount on dry face. ‘DRY’ face and smooth over; lightly  in with finger tips with your eyes closed. Add a little water and the gel transforms into a fluid milk and washes off like a dream.

L’OREAL DE-MAQ EXPERT ELIXIR CONCENTRATE ULTRA MAKEUP REMOVER

On the tube it also says you can add a little water and then wipe of with cotton wool too but I prefer to wash it off or else it leaves a little oily look and feel on the face.
As I said water should never touch the product before it melts all the makeup, because then this product just does not work. How much ever you would rub ur makeup with it..

The oily texture turning to very fluid and thin milky texture in contact with water that easily washes off.

The Wowsome Factors of L’oreal De-maq Expert Elixir Concentrate Ultra Make-up Remover

~it looks like gel, but has oil like texture so its very easy to smooth over and lightly massage
~you don’t really even need to rub it in; it instantly degenerates all the makeup except very few stubborn ones, and literally you need to rub only for a few times.
~love the way the “oil like thing” transforms into easily washable milky fluid and washes off without a trace without too many hassles.
~needless to say it realy does work and removes even the most stubborn makeup with ease, o no rubbing, just gently smoothing over.

I used to feel I abused my skin with other cleansers and makeup removers, either with stretching and dragging or the amount of time it had to sit on my skin and sting and what not. Also I’m a lazy girl and I used to hate spending too much time removing makeup so used to wash off with regular facewash and water, and let the traces be.  :P:P so this ones a boon for me..

~you don’t need too much amount of this really and it lasts quite a while.
~I don’t use makeup very frequently but kajal I use everyday, that too the most stubborn colourbar one which doesn’t wash off completely even after 2 days of removal with regular removers or facewashes.

So YEAH! It does remove this kajal with ease even if its particles are  stubbornly stuck between my upper and lower lashes
~the skin feel incredibly clear, but never dry, infact its just soft and smooth and squeaky clean I never have to worry about traces of makeup being left behind.
~ it never ever broke me out. I’ve been using it for past 4 to 5 years so thumbs up for oily skin; it will work well for other skin types too I think even sensitive since my skin tends to turn sensitive sometimes. For dry skinned people, it wont dry you out completely but you will need ur regular moisturiser after this, which I believe you would apply anyway.

The Not-so-wow Factors About L’oreal De-maq Expert Elixir Concentrate Ultra Make-up Remover

~the price- 600 rs for me. But I guess lately have come to the conclusion that it’s worth it so I don’t hesitate buying it.
~it slightly stings in the eyes if your not too careful; but its not non-bearable. It mildly stings.
~If it does enter your eye “remember the way it turms milky in cotact with water??’ yeah that milky fluid if it enters your eye it makes your vision hazy for half a minute… sounds scary I know but it isn’t really plus at least I use it carefully and don’t let it enter my eye.

Let’s Test it Out
I have used almost all the products that regularly go on my face and let them set.

L’OREAL DE-MAQ EXPERT ELIXIR CONCENTRATE ULTRA MAKEUP REMOVER 2

Starting from the left are
The black, silver greenare my chamber eyeshadows,my estee lauder lash projectionist (quite a stubborn mascara), gala liquid liner, mac carbon, colorbar kajal (theee most stubborn product ever), lotus kajal, my stubborn bourjois liptint, mac studio fix compact swatch (which i use as bronzer or for contouring) and the last four shades are from lakme eye quartet which are pretty well pigmented..
Below these vertical swatches are horizontally swatched painterly, elle 18 glittery-shimmery loose powder and on the right bourjois biodetox foundation swatch

Above the vertical swatches in pic on the right: my lakme blush to the left and Maybelline dream mouuse blush on the right

All of the products are of varying in intensity of stubbornness

Below is the pic of the product just applied on the swatches. Almost all the swatches melted/degenerated on touch.
In the second pic, with a lil smoothing over, only the lash projectionist mascara, gala liquid liner, bourjois lip tint has remained. ( sorry it’s not in this second pic but even the blue shade from lakme eyequartet remains)

L’OREAL DE-MAQ EXPERT ELIXIR CONCENTRATE ULTRA MAKEUP REMOVER 3

In the third pic everything is gone except theres still a hint of the lip tint, with a little more rubbing it wud be gone. But on lips hint of  it stubbornly stays.

L’OREAL DE-MAQ EXPERT ELIXIR CONCENTRATE ULTRA MAKEUP REMOVER 4

Aaaand here u go.. a squeaky clean washed off hand  🙂

Would I ever repurchase it again..?

Umm well yes but I’m yet to try the olive oil if it works well on my stubborn kajal and within seconds, I might not buy otherwise there is no reason why I shoud not buy it again, been using it since 5 or 6 years.

I give this product 5 stars 🙂

  1. Such an awesome review Neha!! :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: ..you’ve written really quite detaileeeeeeeed one..and touched almost all the aspects of an ideal cleanser!! :D..I also would love to have this “oil-turn-into-milk” kinda cleanser. I’ve seen many different brands of such cleansers, but none of them were available in India. Now I know which one I can get here. 😀 😀 :D…Thankoooooooooooooooo!!! :-* :-*

    1. thankuuu sooo much cali…!!! ur very encouraging..!!! :-* :-* hope to get better…
yea do try this one… literally just smoothing it over takes care of most makeup.. so no skin abuse by our hands or stretching by cotton and all…. :)) :))

  3. i use sumthing similar but by clarins…called pure melt cleansing gel..same procedure …apply to dry skin..masage…turns into oil..then rinse with water to create a milk which eliminates impurities…

of course this one is cheaper…i’ll try this one when my Clarins pure melt is over… thanx 🙂

    1. ohh ok… never tried clarins as i its too much on the exensive side.. but recently got their primer and i loveeeeee it to the core….
so im gonna loosen my pockets and give clarins a chance for other skin care products… but i guess u can try this 1 … same job in lesser price no.. and save extra for other other products :haanji: 😉

    1. thnkiessss beeee :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: i like ur name… very cutee bee :-* :-* :-*

haha i know nowadays i hear about olive oil a lot.. but me not touching until i finish this otherwise ill waste this tube :haanji: :haanji: :haanji:

one more thing im scared about is that it is “OIL” afteroil… being an oily skinned sufferer i hate the site of oil on my face… i would end up using so much facewash again neways just to get rid of that oil film…. :weep: :weep: :weep: and wouldnt wanna abuse my face so much…. so yeah …there is like a good 45 percent chance i might not like oilve oil…. ?:) ?:)

      1. Thnks Neha- Its actually Beena but bachpan se every1 calls me Bee or Beenii so its stuck 🙂
And my bro wanted to name me Neha so I guess theres a connection. heheheh

        1. oh really ?? hehehe thats cute..!! 😀

but u know i dont like my name sooo much i mean i like but not so much..its too common na… dats y :(( :(( :((

    1. These are oil +water based cleansers, they completely remove your eye makeup or long staying lip products without leaving traces of makeup behind. Cleansing milks are not strong enough to remove waterproof makeup completly.

  7. thanku sooo much scarletttt :rose: :rose: me sooooo happpyyyyy my first review… :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: yeayyy… dint expect it to come this soon!! whoopieee :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
