By Maya Ramchandani

Hi everyone

Hope your days are going amazing. Today, I am reviewing a hair oil that I am completely in love with. It is L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil For Dried Out Hair. I love experimenting with various hair styling and coloring products, but since last 2 – 3 months, due to this my hair has become very dry and damaged. So, I decided to oil it to repair the damage. But, I do not like olive oil or coconut oil as it feel very greasy and I do not like the smell at all. So, I got L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil For Dried Out Hair while my duty free shopping in Dubai. I have tried it for around 6 to 7 times and the experience is amazing.

My Experience with L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil For Dried Out Hair:

I simply love the packaging of this oil as it comes in a pump bottle, which make it is very easy to use. It has quite a classy packaging for a hair oil. It is a heavy glass bottle. I simply love its look and I feel like applying it regularly.

Trust me guys,it works amazingly. A little expensive according to the size of the bottle and quantity available, but I simply love this oil. It is perfect for people like me, who hate to smell oils, feel greasy and that stickiness of oily hair(chipchip). This is completely the opposite. I can apply this oil almost every day and even would not mind going out with my oiled hair.

As the product claims, it can actually be as in 3 ways and I have tried out it all. Before blow drying, I applied it on to my roots and scalp. It gave me an awesome effect along with preventing my hair from the heat. As a leave-in, I had mentioned that I can use this every day and I would not mind, as it does not makes the hair feel sticky or smell like coconut, olive or jasmine oil.

I usually use oil a day before I wash my hair and when I did so, the results were amazing. The next day my hair felt very soft, silky and shiny. It amazingly suited my hair. Earlier, when I used to use simple virgin olive oil or coconut oil, I used to have a little silky hair the next day, but just for an hour or so. Instead on using L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil For Dried Out Hair, my hair stays soft, silky and shiny for approximately 2 days. It nourishes and conditions your hair amazingly. I totally love this product.

The only issue is the price of the product, it costed me approximately around 1200 INR, when I bought it from Dubai duty free. As compared to the heavy price paid for an hair oil, the quantity is quite less. I am using a 100 ml bottle and I have used it for maximum 6 times till date and it is already half, infact even less. Also, though I have used this oil since sometime, still after washing my hair, it feels soft and silky, but that is just for 2 days, it does not seem to provide any long time improvement.

You can buy the one according to your hair type from this range, I loved the Elvive range from Loreal. I am using the same Elive range’s shampoo and conditioner for my dry hair. The one available in India from the same Elvive range is also good. I had tried that one twice or thrice as my cousin uses it and it worked the same way for me. Both of them are almost the same, just a little difference in the ingredients.

  1. I saw this at health and glow. Meant to pick it up. Now maybe cause I know the pros I would pick it up :). I second you Priyanka, maybe I did not pick it up because the packaging did not appeal to me 😛

  2. this is actually my first experience with oil like this. otherwise i used to have olive oil or coconut oil massage only. may that’s the reason i liked the packaging, a glass bottle with a pump is ok for an hair oil. apart from that i simply love what it does to my hair. it totally suited me.

  3. after this review, I am totally kicked about it..such a strong positive experience about a product !!!and who doesn’t want soft, silky, manageable hair!!

  4. Ya so I picked up the loreal extraordinary oil. This one says all Hair types. It contains the 6 oils – argan, almond, olive, coconut, jojoba and camelina. It costs Rs 199 so that’s not too bad :). So firstly am sure this is not the right one as your product said dried hair etc but it looks similar so I do hope it gives the same benefits. I love hair oils so I guess it’s not bad purchase.
