Hi there lovelies,
This is one of the products I got for my birthday and I mainly bought it because of the purple shade and it said high intensity pigment on the cover. I was like “solid.”
Product Description:
Discover the secret for bold, metallic color with a luminous finish. HiP Studio Secrets Professional Metallic Shadow Duos are expertly coordinated to create an edgy, shimmery look. The rich, super-blendable color glides on evenly for hours of captivating, crease-resistant wear.
Ingredients:
Talc, PTFE, magnesium stearate, triocttyldodecyl citrate, octyldodecyl stearoyl stearate, boron nitride, tridecyl neopentanoate, dicaprylyl maleate, lauroyl lysine, calcium sodium borosilicate, synthetic fluorphlogopite, tocopheryl acetate, methylparaben, imidazolidinyl urea, lcium aluminum borosilicate, propylparaben, tin oxide, silica, lecithin, polyperfluoromethylisopropyl ether, isocetyl stearoyl stearate ethylhexyl palmitate.
Shades:
This duo is definitely not something I use everyday. It is more for a night-time look in general, because of the darker shade. The lighter shade is a very difficult color to describe; it is a cool toned taupey white colour. The lighter shade is shimmery and metallic and the darker shade has a satin finish. You can definitely mix and match with other shades from your collection and create a huge variety of looks with this. I would use the lighter shade only as highlight, but that is just personal preference.
Packaging:
The packaging is very nifty. It has a see-through window with a separate compartment for a sponge tip. That does make it relatively travel-friendly. It has 2.4 g of total product.
Pigmentation:
The pigmentation did not blow me away. That being said, it is pretty good. It is definitely less powdery than the L’Oreal Color Riche eyeshadow quads. The colors are very complementary, so you can use them in different combinations to create different looks. If I want to really build them up, I foil them with Mac Fix+.
Staying Power:
I have never used them without primer, because I have oily eyelids, so priming is more of a necessity than a choice, but these stay on my lids the whole day (that could be the primer’s work too). The shades are definitely buildable and blendable.
Pros of L’Oreal HiP Studio Secrets Professional Metallic Shadow Duos – Electrified:
- Nifty packaging.
- Pigmented shades.
- Buildable and blendable shades.
Cons of L’Oreal HiP Studio Secrets Professional Metallic Shadow Duos – Electrified:
- You might need to mix and match with other shades, depending on your preference.
IMBB Rating:
4.75/5
For drugstore pricing, this is a very good product and I definitely recommend them if you are in the market for some new, affordable shadows.
