L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray Review

Hi guys,

I am back with a review of setting spray. Although I have been a faithful user of MAC Fix+ for years, it isn’t really a setting spray technically, which is why I was interested to try this product out after hearing lots of hype about it. Let’s see if it lived up to it.

My Experience with L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray:

The bottle comes in a black, rubberized, matte-finish plastic bottle with a cap. While the packaging is pretty standard, it is good and functional. The nozzle on it is very good as well. My thoughts first, about the nozzle. The nozzle is better on this than the MAC Fix+ because the nozzle on the MAC can tend to skip sometimes, but this one consistently functions well and does not skip. It sprays out a very fine mist which spreads on the face well. I spray it at a distance of about 10 cm away from my face. It does not feel wet or gloopy once on.

L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray

It evaporates fairly quickly, in about 10 seconds or so. It applies evenly also. I can spray it and step out immediately. It does not feel like anything once on and keeps my makeup in place for about 6 hours. After which, my makeup usually starts to disappear. The biggest thing going for this is that it is oil free so that means that all skin types can use this. Having said that, this is not in the least moisturizing.

L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray

So, if you have very very dry or dehydrated skin, I recommend spraying something moisturising like Fix+ first and then topping off with this spray to lock your makeup in place. Combination to oily skin types can use this directly after finishing your makeup. At the back of the bottle, they describe this product as having micro-fine texture, action as set/fix and usage as post-makeup. I would agree with all of this. Usually, my foundation and concealer disappears completely over the course of the day even with primer, but this product definitely extends the wear time further.

It has not broken me out or caused any irritation to my eyes. I highly recommend this to everyone looking for a drugstore setting spray.

Pros of L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray:

  • All skin types can find use for it.
  • Sets makeup wonderfully.
  • No residue left behind after use.
  • Evaporates very quickly after application.
  • Nozzle sprays out a very fine and even mist.
  • Affordable.

Cons of L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray:

  • Dry skin types will have to use a moisturising spray before using this spray to add extra moisture.

5/5

Absolutely. I find my makeup lasts longer with this on. Lasts about 6 hours before I see product breakdown/need to touch up.

  1. I have just started using a setting spray and I must say it’s worth the investment. I will definitely check this out next time.
