L’Oreal Infallible Rouge Envy Pro-Matte Gloss Review

I have already reviewed the shades “Fuchsia Amnesia,” “Forbidden Kiss”, “Rebel Rose” and “Shanghai Scarlet” from the newly-launched L’Oréal Infallible Pro-matte gloss range. Today, I am reviewing the shade “Rouge Envy.” So, read on to find out more about this product.

My Experience with L’Oreal Infallible Rouge Envy Pro-Matte Gloss:

Packaging: This gloss comes in a transparent curvy rectangular tube with a black cap. The packaging is simple yet looks pretty. The cap is a screw-on type and hence there is no danger of it coming off loose. The name of the gloss appears on a sticker on the cap.  The applicator sponge is doe shaped with a small hole in the middle. It picks up a good amount of the product and applies the gloss easily and precisely.

Shade/Pigmentation:  “Rouge Envy” is a gorgeous pinkish-red shade. It is a shade which will appeal to both red as well as pink lovers. It will suit most skin tones and will brighten up your face.  The gloss is strongly pigmented and one swipe is enough to cover the lips. There is no clumping of the gloss if you layer it on.

Texture/Finish:  The texture of this gloss is more like a liquid lipstick. It is quite creamy and applies very smoothly.  The finish is a semi-matte one with some amount of sheen. The sheen makes the lips look plumper. The gloss does set a bit after a while but it does not dry down to a fully dry matte finish.

The gloss feels pretty comfortable on the lips and feels like velvet. It does not feel drying nor does it settle into lips lines. I did not observe any feathering either.

Lasting Power:  The gloss transfers quite a bit. The lasting power is average and it lasts on me for around 4-5 hours depending on what I am snacking/drinking.

Pros of L’Oreal Infallible Rouge Envy Pro-Matte Gloss:

• Gorgeous pink-red shade.
• Creamy velvety texture which glides smoothly on the lips.
• Lovely semi-matte finish.
• Strong pigmentation.
• No clumping if layered on.
• Does not feel drying on the lips.
• Pretty affordable.

Cons of L’Oreal Infallible Rouge Envy Pro-Matte Gloss:

• Average staying power.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend L’Oreal Infallible Rouge Envy Pro-Matte Gloss?
This is a beautiful shade and if you can overlook the low staying power, you can surely try this one out.  I will not repurchase the exact same shade.
