My experience with L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Plum:
After trying the L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Black, which I really loved, I wanted to try some of the other colors in the Silkissime range. The L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner comes in a number of pretty shades. The one that I picked up is in the shade Plum.
The plastic body of the pencil matches the color of the liner, which makes it easy to identify the liner by color! The pencil has a transparent cap and a gold band on the top. The color of the liner is printed in gold on the pencil body.
The color of the eyeliner, though named ‘Plum’, is actually an intense navy blue or dark violet. The color is actually very beautiful and defines the eyes very well, being a dark color. The pigmentation is excellent. You can get the full color intensity in just one swipe of the liner.
The liner is extremely soft and creamy and glides very easily on the lids. There is no skip, no tugging. You can draw a smooth intense line in just one single stroke. It is really like silk. You need to apply just the slightest pressure.
This liner claims to last for 16 hours! It lasts me throughout the day, without any smudging or fading. It is still as fresh at the end of the day as it was when I first applied it in the morning. I wear contact lens and my eyes water quite a bit! And I have really oily lids. But that did not cause this eye liner to fade or smudge. I am really happy with the staying power of this liner.
As with any pencil liner, the tip gets blunt after one use. More so with this one, as it is so creamy that the product gets used up pretty fast. I could get a maximum of two uses before I had to sharpen. Some people have reported issues with sharpening this pencil due to the gold band on the top of the pencil. But I just used my Milani Dual Sharpener and did not face any problem at all. The gold band is also plastic, not an actual metal band. So there is no issue with sharpening. I wish this was in the form of a retractable pencil but I guess that may not be possible due to the creaminess of this product.
Since my eyelids are so oily, I was able to get it off just with soap and water! People with dry lids may need a good eye makeup remover.
Pros of L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Plum:
• Beautiful dark violet/navy blue color
• Highly pigmented color with just one swipe
• Extremely smooth and creamy formula
• Liner glides easily on the lids with no skip or tug
• Lasts through the day on the lids with no fading or smudging or smearing
• Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers
• Did not face any eye irritation due to this
Cons of L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Plum:
• Since the product is so soft and creamy, the tip may break unless you are very gentle
• Has to be sharpened
IMBB Rating: 5/5
Recommendation: I really love this range of liners from L’Oreal. It is such a delight to use! This shade is a really good change from the usual black liners but is still dark enough to define the eyes well. Do try it as soon as you get a chance!
