Sunscreens should be staple in our skin care routine. I try to use my day cream with SPF even if I am not going out as am in front of the laptop for long hours. I really dislike the whitish cast on the face with sunscreen on so I opted for this new gel based lotion which claims to have cooling properties. Read on to know how this fared for me.

For sunscreen use: Apply generously 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying, and at least every 2 hours.
Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF value 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limited time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses.

My Experience with L’Oreal Invisible Protect Clear Cool Lotion 50+:
The packaging as you can see is bright and cute. I like the flip top cap style with a small opening as the product dispensed each time can be controlled. All information about the product is mentioned at the back of the tube. Being sturdy and of 100ml quantity, it can easily be sneaked into the skincare pouch while travelling.
I absolutely hate the white cast that comes free with most sunscreens. So I prefer the tinted ones or gel variants to avoid the white cast. I was excited looking at the claims of this gel sunscreen and had high hopes from this. The gel feels cool on application and the cooling sensation remains for about 5 minutes or so.
As much as I liked the cooling sensation, I was highly disappointed by the oily look it gives. It looks like you’ve applied some sticky oil and it refused to get absorbed. For people with combination/oily skin this should be a definite pass, or else you will up looking the “Gauri Khan” in her signature look. No matter how well it protects the skin, am staying away from this due to the gross sticky oily feel and look. If you do not mind looking oily for sun-protection then go ahead as it has good protection and the cooling sensation on the skin.
Pros of L’Oreal Invisible Protect Clear Cool Lotion 50+:
• Attractive packaging.
• Cooling feel.
• No white cast.
• Controls tanning (reapplication required for longer exposure)
• No sun burn.
• No funny smell.
Cons of L’Oreal Invisible Protect Clear Cool Lotion 50+:
• Oily residue.
• Expensive for the quantity.
• Not absorbed completely.
IMBB Rating – 2.5/5
Would I Repurchase/Recommend L’Oreal Invisible Protect Clear Cool Lotion 50+?
Repurchase – nope, I don’t like the oily residue, in fact the “clear” claim is not lived up to.
Recommend – if you do not mid the oily look it imparts to the skin, go ahead. It has good protection power.
