L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer Review

By Zarine

Hello beautiful ladies,

So, let me ask you all this question – does your eyeshadow crease when you apply dark-colored pigmented shadows or does your kohl smudge out? Well, on my oily eyelids, these things do happen.  Moreover, I am one of those girls who cannot live without a black kohl. Well, somehow my problem of kohl and eyeshadows getting smudged was solved after I started using an eye primer.  So, this post is about an eyelid primer which I am using currently. Earlier, I use to apply a concealer, then dab powder, and then apply my eyeshadow which worked great to cover my pigmentation on my eyelids but not like an eye primer, so here I am going to review my current favorite eyeshadow or eyelid primer and that’s the L’Oreal Paris Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer [too long a name right ] 😀

L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer

$8.99 for 5.5 ml.

Product Description:
L’Oreal Paris Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer is specifically designed to address two common concerns of eyeshadow users–wear and creasing. L’Oreal Paris Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer extends the wear of shadow by up to eight hours and prevents shadow from settling into lines and creases. It can be used with a variety of shadow types, including powder, cream or gloss.  So, whether you are looking to create a neutral “9 to 5 look” or a dramatic smoky eye that will last the entire night, the first step will always be the same.

My Experience with L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer:

Let’s begin with the packaging – it comes in a plastic tiny bottle which is quite travel friendly along with the sponge tip applicator which makes it really easy to apply. This primer is quite creamy and works really well for dry or oily lids. Once you apply it, you need to spread it out quickly as it sets fast. I would definitely compare this primer to Urban Decay shadow primer potion in Eden as both of these have similar color and the only major difference is the price factor.

L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer

Well, at least, I would not spend a whopping 20 dollars for a UD primer as the L’Oreal one is just $8, and works the same way.

The claim of bringing about a pop of color on my eyes was real and I have not seen such an effect without a primer. This primer is opaque and covers pigmentation also.

I applied this a little near my lower lashes to see if my kohl would smudge and it didn’t, therefore, I was quite impressed with this eyelid primer.

L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer

The main function of an eyeshadow primer is to prolong the staying power and improve the texture without irritating the eyes. I am quite happy with this primer because of its consistency, which is perfect for an eyeshadow primer and of course the shade is a neutral n*de shade that makes your eyeshadows pop out.  I have used it on hot summer days and it did last on me for more than 7 hours.  I also tried it with loose pigments, cream eyeshadows, matte eyeshadows, and was impressed.

I was skeptical before purchasing this product as there were many eyeshadow primer at a much lower price available in the market, but now since it’s in my kitty, I absolutely love it for the fact that it doesn’t budge from my eyes.  It does not give me panda eyes when I apply dark kohl (my daily addiction when I step out).  This primer manages to keep everything intact and in place 🙂

L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer

I would describe this primer as a creamy, long-staying product.  My only issue is with the quantity, you get like 5.5 ml for #8.9 dollars.

L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer

I purchased mine online from Ulta and received it through a relative as I reside in Hyderabad.  It’s available online in India too, but with shipping and extra charges.

Pros of L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer:

  • Perfect creamy consistency.
  • Less is enough.
  • Lasts for a long time.
  • Dupe of UD Eye primer in Eden.

Cons of L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer:

  • Sets fast, so need to be quick during application.
  • Not available at counters in India.
  • Price should have been a little low as it’s a drugstore product.

Would I Repurchase L’Oreal Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer?
Yes, I would if there is some sale going on 😀
