L’Oreal Open Eyes Pro: 07 Turquoise

L’Oreal Open Eyes Pro 07 Turquoise

I have been crazy about these quads over the past several months and have managed to review almost all. The blue, wine, green, smokey brown and the deeper blue and now this turquoise one. I don’t know if it’s the convenience factor of having four colors at hand and not a single one or a whole 88 palette, but four corresponding colors which will ease out eye defining, with the highlight color, a light, medium and a deeper for the crease color, all in one.  For this, I have paid Rs. 700 each for the quad, but some of them have been disappointing.

If you remember the Smokey Brown I reviewed last week, I found it so tough to work with.  Apparently, we need such brown quads for office wear and we want it to be easy to use and not so tough to blend like the brown in Smokey Brown.  This Turquoise had my high hopes hooked on to it, still its just two of the colors that made me smile, and the other two are so disappointing.

Turquoise

You will not believe I had taken some 50 odd pictures of my eyes and had applied it on three consecutive days to see if I wanted to change my opinion on this one.  All the pictures came out bad, the color shabby and the blues dull, and not even a good liner worked for this one.

Now, my take on each of the color is:

Turquoise

The creamy glittery beige is the top one which I use for the inner corner and under the brows. This one is fine by me and very soft, but if you dab it on, it will stick to the skin, so be careful with the placing.

The next is a light blue pearly one, oh my God, this does not work for my skin tone at all. Ideally, you can use it in the inner half of the lid and think it would brighten your eyes, but it doesn’t.  The pigmentation is fine but the shade doesn’t work for me.

Turquoise

The next one in turquoise is my most favourite. This color works very well for my skin. I like how it looks and this one is shimmer and has no fallout, but pure turquoise color and looks great all over the lid . I can skip the light blue one easily.

EOTD

The last one is deeper blue which looked most promising, but such a disaster. The color is gorgeous and deep, pigmentation is good but just doesn’t stick to my skin.  There is more fallout than the color that goes on to the skin.  My skin to the right of the eye went black and blue with the fall out and still no eye definition in the crease.  You can see how dull it looks in the crease, wish it was more tightly packed and not so chalky.

EOTD

These definitely need a base to work with if you want the deeper blue to stick on. I did not like it one bit but I can still use the quad for the pretty turquoise blue in it.  The staying power is poor without a base and may be the creamy beige one would stay longer due to the texture.

Last Word:

Not recommended at all. Hunt for another turquoise if you may, but this quad has two useless colors with tremendous fallout on the crease color. No doubt, the blues brighten up the eyes, but I have still used a glitter liner with it.  Check out all my reviews on Open Eyes Pro quads for comparison.
