Skin Tone- Medium, NC42, warm undertones
The shade that I am reviewing today “I Got the Power” created quite a buzz at the Cannes Red Carpet as it has been claimed that Doutzen Kroes sported this shade on Day 1. No doubt, she looked fabulous sporting this shade, but on Indian skin tones, it looks completely different, but would it flatter our skin tones? Read on to know my thoughts on the gloss “I Got the Power.”
Our “no compromise” gloss is here. The formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid and shine colour pigments, leaving lips hydrated with a high level of shine. Enjoy a glossy look, without stickiness. The lip shaper applicator contours and hugs lips for a perfect glossy pout, all day.
My Experience with L’Oreal Paris 110 I Got the Power Cream Infallible Mega Gloss:
This lip gloss comes in a regular packaging, which is transparent, and so you can see the color from outside. The cap is smart with shiny black details that adds to the simple gorgeousness of the packaging.
The applicator sponge is pretty unique in shape. One dip is enough to cover the lips as the sponge has a reservoir kind of a thing which stores up the color. The tip of the sponge is pointed, hence it is easy to reach the corners and give definition to the Cupid’s bow. Overall, the lip gloss has a smart and classy packaging.
The texture of the lip gloss is more like a lip gel, in my opinion. The good thing – it is absolutely non-sticky and yet gives a good dose of moisture to the lips. The pigmentation is medium to buildable, but I like to put on a single swipe as I do not want the uncomfortable heavy feel on the lips. If you’ve pigmented lips like me, I would suggest wearing a lip liner beneath; it would give a longer staying power and also cover the pigmentation on the lips.
The shade “I Got the Power” is a simple yet sophisticated shade. It is that shade of n*de that is going to suit almost all skin tones without washing out as it is a muted pink color with brown undertones – pretty much of an MLBB shade with medium coverage. It can be paired with anything and everything, making it one staple in the makeup pouch; when in doubt, wear this shade.
The staying power depends on the food/fluid intake and also on the base on which it is applied. Without any base, it stays on my lips for 2-3 hours, after which it starts to fade and then reapplication is a must. It does not leave any cheap stain behindm which is a pro for me. With a lip liner, beneath the staying power of the lip gloss can be extended up to 5 hours maximum.
As I am not a big fan of glosses, I am not too excited about these; but if you love wearing glosses, do try this range at the store; they have various finishes like cream, matte, dazzle etc.
