Skin-tone: Fair to medium
I have always loved pigmented lip balms, that give the colour of a lipstick and the glossiness and hydration of a lip balm. And the NEW CC genius balms from L’oreal behave in the same way. I planned to start with a soft coral pink shade, since I don’t have a lot of soft shades, and this shade is called “cupid peony”, cute isn’t it? See how it worked for me.

My Experience with L’oreal Paris 702 cupid peony CC genius balm:
Packaging: The genius balm, has a silver base with the colour of the balm on the top. These are colour-coded ones which makes it easier to spot them, if you have a collection. I really liked the variety of shades that they have added in this range. You would surely find a few that you like. It has “L’oreal” written over it, which makes it look classy. The shade name is also written at the base but not very much visible. These are handy and close with a click as well. These are expensive, but we cannot complain because it is L’oreal.
Shade, pigmentation and finish: The shade “Cupid peony” is a bright refreshing coral pink shade with a lot of neon hints. It is one of the pure coral shades, that are super fun to wear during summers. But, it is a kind of coral that not everyone can handle because of the bright neon hints. It did suit my complexion when I had the foundation on, but when my real yellow undertones show up without a foundation, this shade looks a bit weird.
It is perfectly suitable for very fair skin-tone. But not for medium and dusky skin-tone! The pigmentation is really good for a balm. It has the pigmentation of a lipstick and shine and glossiness of a lip balm. It has a buttery consistency, which keeps my lips hydrated throughout. It gives me lips a balmy finish, which makes my lips look healthier and fuller.
Staying power: The staying power is really good for a buttery lipstick. It stays on its own for more than 4 hours. But if you have a meal or keeping drinking water, then this might come off partially and then you would require a touch-up.
After 4 hours, it leaves a bright coral pink shade that makes my lips look healthy. It transfers a lot due to its buttery texture and also settles a bit n the fine lines. Overall, super cute ones to have in the stash!

IMBB Rating: 3.5/5 (because of the colour for Indian skin-tone)
Will I Repurchase/Recommend L’oreal Paris 702 cupid peony CC genius balm?
I wouldn’t say a yes to this particular shade since it is too neon for yellow undertones. But if you like neon shades, then do go for this. I would love to try the other shades.
The color is just like a lipstick with added hydration and glossiness!
