So, I decided to switch my shampoo and conditioner and started using these two. This range claims to make one’s hair color last and let’s find out how true is this claim, with this review.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Color Vibrancy Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner:
My hair is naturally black and I had colored it a dark brown, mainly to cover the greys which have started cropping up. I have an oily scalp, my hair is not overtly oily, but it tends to get oilier after 3-4 days of shampooing.
I have been through this hair color phase earlier also when I was much younger and highlights were a age. I do not remember which shampoo and conditioner I used to have, but I can recall that I ended up having coarse and unmanageable hair. Also, the color looked perfect for about a month, after which my hair started to look dull and lifeless. So, this time around, I started taking precautions from the very beginning.
Fragrance: Both the shampoo and conditioner have a floral smell. It is a pleasant smell which is not too overpowering. It stays in your hair for a day before it starts fading.
Packaging: The packaging is a very attractive looking black and hot pink bottle. The bottles resemble the standard packaging for the L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hair Care range. They come with a flip-top cap that shuts tight. But, the 375 ml bottles are surely not travel friendly as they are too bulky.
I love how the bottles have yin and yang design going onas the conditioner has an inverted print. I am not sure why they did that, maybe to make the identification easier when you are in the shower.
Shampoo: The shampoo is cloudy white in color and is slightly thin and runny. It spreads easily in the hair and also lathers up well. I massage it onto my wet hair and then rinse it off with warm water. My hair feels clean after using the shampoo. But, it also feels tangled and I surely do need to follow it up with a conditioner.
Conditioner: The conditioner is thick and creamy in consistency. I apply it all over my hair and leave it on for around 2 minutes. Then, I rinse it off with warm water. I have noticed that the conditioner immediately detangles my hair and I can smoothly run my fingers through. It washes off well and does not leave any sticky, gooey feeling in my hair.
Verdict: This shampoo and conditioner combo left my hair really soft and silky. The shampoo does not dry out my hair or make it frizzy. Nor does the conditioner weigh it down. I am just left with clean, healthy tresses. Of course, I start seeing flyaways after 2 days or so but that is just how my hair is. I used this combo continuously (washing my hair every 5 days) and I am really glad that my hair never once felt dull or undernourished. Since, I had used a semi-permanent hair color, it was bound to fade after 8-10 weeks (or around 20 – 24 washes, as they claim). But, I can surely say that during the time my hair was colored, it always looked healthy and glossy. And, I thank this shampoo and conditioner combo for that.
If you are looking for a good shampoo/conditioner for color treated hair at an affordable price, you can surely try out the L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Color Vibrancy Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner. One word of caution though, I have hair that leans towards oily. And maybe that is why these products did not dry out my hair. But those with extremely dry hair, might want to use a sample first to see how it works for them.

Cons of L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Color Vibrancy Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner:
• Shampoo on its own will leave you with tangled hair. You need to use the conditioner as well.
• Not suitable for extremely dry hair.
• Contains SLS.

Yes, if you have color treated hair, go for it! I have not colored my hair again as I do not want to put too much chemical in my hair. Currently, rocking my greys! I will repurchase these two only if I decide to go the colored hair route again.
