L’Oreal Paris Color Riche L’Extraordinaire Mat Lip Colour – Versailles Tangerine Review

The previous month I had been so unmindful in spending that I got a lot of beauty products and stuff. All this while I was too busy with things so I pampered myself, and that resulted in exhausting all my allowance. I was over the moon with my recruitment, so a good reason to shop and celebrate. 😛 I had a gloss from this range and I totally loved it. Now I am swaying towards mattes and all the glosses are catching dust. Let’s get to the review.

950 INR for 5.5ml

Claims:
• Color riche L’extraordinare mat is made with an extraordinary blend of precious matte oils that lend a sublime velvet lip quality in multi-dimensional rich vivid color that’s never flat
• Lips stay hydrated, soft, and supple and enjoy all-day comfort
• A lightweight texture and rich matte finish with a long lasting effect

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Color Riche L’Extraordinaire Mat Lip Colour – Versailles Tangerine:

Packaging:
There is a slight color change with the outer packaging; more towards rose gold when compared to the gloss ones. I really love how it gives a luxurious feel even though it is plastic. There is a little window which shows the color making it easy to detect. The applicator is okay, not great. I have gotten used to it but it may feel tricky in the beginning.

Shade:
Versailles tangerine is a bright orange without any neon hints. Oranges always intimidated me but I had to give this one a try. I’m glad I did! This is not too bright an orange, just enough to make out it is an orange. It has very slight red tones to it. It is that kind of shade that brightens up the face.

Texture and pigmentation:
The texture is really, really lovely. It is so smooth and soft. It gives that matte feel once it sets completely. It is also extremely light-weight. The pigmentation is also very nice. It gives complete coverage in two swipes. It needs a little while to settle into matte finish. I like the formula a lot; non-drying.

Staying power:
It stays on for a good 4.5-5 hours without heavy meals and a little more than that with meals. It fades from the corners evenly. But it does survive some light snacks. After it comes off, it leaves a pretty orange stain that looks pretty but is slightly difficult to get off. On the negative side it transfers here and there even though it is matte. I totally love this one!

• Transfers a little.
• Pricey.

I think all those who stay away from oranges should give this a try, you’re gonna love it. I’m definitely gonna save up some more to try other shades 😀
