After reviewing a couple of shades from the Loreal Paris Color Riche La Lacque range, I am back today with a shade from their other range – Mad for Matte from the Le Matte Range. Read on to find out more.

Introducing Colour Riche Le Matte & La Lacque, the newest format in lipcolor. The sleek, sophisticated pen offers highly pigmented color that glides on effortlessly in one precise stroke. Available in 2 iconic finishes,
creamy Matte and Lacquer. Use it anywhere, anytime – it’s the newest makeup designer must-have.
My Experience with L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Mad for Matte Le Matte Lip Pen:
Packaging: The packaging of the Le Matte lip pens is quite similar to that of the La Lacque range. It is a slender pen format and the color of the pen coincides with the color of the lip product inside. The lip product is retractable and you don’t need to bother about a sharpener. However, the product does not swivel down completely and the tip remains exposed and this is a recipe for disaster as you can accidentally nick the tip of the pen while putting the cap on. The tip of the lip pen is oval shaped and that makes the application precise especially around the corners of the lips or the Cupids bow.
Shade/Pigmentation: Mad for Matte is a gorgeous strawberry red. It is a bright shade but it is not over the top and does not look garish. It adds a pop of color to the face and will suit most skin tones. The lip pen is decently pigmented and covers the lips in a single swipe. Swiping it multiple times does not make the look cake-y.
Texture/Finish/Lasting Power: The texture of the lip pen is quite creamy. It applies very smoothly on the lips and does not tug at all. After using the La Lacque pens which tug slightly on the lips, I was a bit skeptical because typically matte products are drier. However, no such worries here. The formula of the Le Matte lip pen is superb.
The finish is matte with a slight sheen. It does not accentuate any lip lines and does not feel drying on the lips. The lipstick has a strong rose/floral smell and those of you who do not like fragrance in their cosmetics will not like it. The staying power of the lipstick is quite good at around 5 hours. It transfers quite a bit but still survives light meals and snacking. It leaves behind a nice stain on the lips.
