L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Blue Haute Couture (211) Eye Shadow Review

Hope you are enjoying your day! Today, I am reviewing an eye shadow quad from L’Oreal. This is “Blue Haute Couture” from the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Eye Shadow range. The quad number is 211.

How To Use:
1. COLOR – Color the entire eye-lid.
2. BRIGHTEN – Sweep onto brow bone.
3. CONTOUR – Blend into the crease for depth.
4. DEFINE – Apply along lash line.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Blue Haute Couture (211) Eye Shadow:

Packaging:  The eye shadow quad comes in a small four-pan palette with a transparent lid which has a gold border. The plastic case seems to be somewhat flimsy and may break easily. Moreover, the golden lid gets scratched very easily and also collects fingerprints!  The lid does close securely and so it will not open up in your makeup bag. But make sure not to put too much pressure on this delicate palette! The transparent lid makes it easier to see the colors in the palette without having to open the lid.

The palette comes with a double-ended sponge tip applicator. There is no mirror. The label on the back of the palette has some instructions with an image, depicting which portion of the eyelid each color should go on. This is really helpful for beginners.

Color and Finish:  All the four shades in this palette have a shimmer finish. Shade 1 is an aqua teal shade. Shade 2 is a pale champagne shade. Shade 3 is a royal blue shade. Shade 4 is a dark blue-green shade.

Pigmentation:  All the shadows in this palette have average pigmentation. You will have to layer it on to get the full color intensity as seen in the pan.

Texture:  All the four shades have a smooth texture, but shades 3 and 4, the royal blue and dark blue-green, are quite powdery. There is a bit of fall out even after tapping the excess off the brush. They are apply smoothly and blend easily.

Longevity:  Longevity is average with this quad. Without a primer, they last on my oily lids for around 4 hours, after which I notice some fading. With a primer, they last for over 6 hours.

Pros of L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Blue Haute Couture (211) Eye Shadow:

• Beautiful colors for a pretty blue-green summer look.
• Smooth texture which applies and blends easily.

Cons of L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Blue Haute Couture (211) Eye Shadow:

• Average pigmentation.
• Low lasting power.
• Two of the shades are quite powdery and have a lot of fallout.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Blue Haute Couture (211) Eye Shadow?
This is a very disappointing eye shadow quad from L’Oreal. The colors are so pretty but they don’t last long on the lids. There are many better eye shadows in the market. This can surely be skipped.
