L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Collection Star Pinks – Gong Li Review

Buying new lip colors has become my hobby now. And when it’s a pink lip color, I am always in the first row. L’Oreal Paris has recently launched the new La Vie En Rose Star Collection, and this range already has becomes quite popular in India. I have the shade Gong Li with me today.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Collection Star Pinks – Gong Li:

Pink is loved so much by girls and there are so many pinks available in this new collection. L’Oreal has so many options for different skin tones. I have medium skin tone with neutral undertones, and most of the shades suit me, so I can pick up any shade for myself. So, I got this lilac shade. This is definitely an expensive range but is available at almost every beauty store.

Packaging:
This lipstick comes in a very classy, matte black packaging and it has a color coding window which really helps to identify the color easily. The cap closes with a click and it is totally travel friendly. Personally, I totally love this packaging and the golden touch adds extra glamour to it. It comes with a nice, wide shaped applicator which evenly distributes the color on the lips.

Shade:
This extraordinaire mat range offers 5 different pink shades. Among them, I have the shade Gong Li which is a lilac. It is a very cute and bubbly pink shade with tiny shimmer particles. The shimmer is not visible on lips actually but it gives a nice glow. The color looks like a milky, bubblegum pink on my lips. It is an extremely cute shade and gives natural-looking pink lips. Gong Li complements fair skin tone the best.

It also looks fine on medium skin, but is definitely not for wheatish or dark skin tones. It will wash out their complexion. It looks good on my medium complexion but when it fades away and turns blue, it looks more milky pink on my lips. Then, it looks a little light for my complexion. Otherwise I totally love this shade with my bold eye makeup and it gives a very natural, fresh look.

Pigmentation, Texture & Quality:
The shade is nicely pigmented and two swipes are enough for my lips. But it will look little uneven on pigmented lips. But, with time, it settles down nicely and gives a perfect shade. It is actually a liquid lipstick with a thick, creamy consistency. It glides smoothly and spreads evenly on lips. But extra layering does settle the lip color at the inner lip lines. It gives extremely soft and moisturized lips and can provide deep nourishment to dry and chapped lips.

This softness stays all long day and it never makes my lips dry. It feels light on lips and it doesn’t feel sticky. After application, it looks glossy and creamy, but after 20-30 minutes, it settles down into a velvety semi matte texture and gives a flattering look. But, the texture is not an extraordinary matte one. It has a very strong, long lasting smell of candy or jelly, which is not liked by me. But it’s a personal choice.

Staying Power:
It will not stay as long as a matte lipstick, but it stays for good number of hours on my lips. It can survive a meal and can stay on for around 5-6 hours. After having lunch or after 4 hours, it leaves a nice milky pink stain on my lips. As it is a very light shade, it is not as visible after 5-6 hours. Only I can notice the color on my lips. It does transfer just after the application, but once it sets in matte texture, it doesn’t transfer a lot.

Overall:
I just love this lipstick. It looks cute on me and gives extremely soft lips. It looks good with any outfit. I am totally a fan of this new range.

I will definitely love to buy some more shades from this range. And I will highly recommend this range to you all. This shade looks best on fair to medium skin tones. It is a perfect, daily wear natural pink shade.
