Hello friends,

I will share them with you from time to time, don’t worry. 😉 For now, just keep guessing while I pen down my thoughts about another L’Oreal Paris product. So, L’Oreal launched these gorgeous lip palettes in 3 happening shades and I grabbed two of them, Pink and Plum. My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Plum La Palette Lip:

The eight sizzling hot lip colors are nicely housed in a sturdy, flip top packaging with a see-through opening. It also has a brush applicator included and it seems good enough for occasional use or touch-ups. I can feel a mild fragrance in the formula, which seems totally fine. I certainly like this user-friendly and travel-friendly packaging even though I miss having a mirror in the palette.

So a plum palette sounds like a song to our ears, considering winters are here in full swing. I absolutely love wearing purples and plums in winters; not to forget, signature red lips for Christmas. 😀 First and foremost, I love it more than my Pink palette because this one has a variety of plum as well as pink toned colors along with wine and MLBB shades. This seems like a smart replacement of my pink palette. I can see that except one milky purple color and the shimmery highlighter each and every color will work like a charm on my light skin tone.

Moreover, every single color in this palette (except the highlighter) provides nearly full coverage with perfectly smooth finish, much to my happiness. Yes gals, this palette will work equally well on pigmented lips, with or without a lip liner. I would still suggest wearing a lip liner as it gives definition to our features. However, I haven’t used the lip liner in swatches as they are good enough to be used alone for a casual day out. The plum palette features 5 creamy, glossy shades along with 2 matte shades and one purple shimmery highlighter.

Let’s discuss each shade in detail:

Shade 1:
A creamy, glossy wine cum plum shade. It is my go-to shade in winters. I like how easily it adheres to my dry lips, providing smooth and juicy finish with nearly opaque color pay off. I do need a few swipes to build up the coverage but it still gives a non-cakey and smooth finish on the lips. It also appears to work well on minor dry patches. It does not settle into the fine lines either. This shade smartly conceals minor flaws as well. It also manages to stay for good 3-4 hours with occasional water/tea break and snacks but it completely fades away after one meal. I just wish the staying power of these lip colors were better. I will give it a rating of 4.7/5.

Shade 2:
This is a creamy peach-toned plum shade with equally smooth and glossy finish. It can be an MLBB shade for many beauties. I love how it gives my lips a ‘my-lips-but-better’ effect with its light-weight yet pigmented finish. I think we can totally skip a lip liner or concealer with this shade as it provides full coverage with minimal swipes. I never find it sitting in between fine lines and/or emphasising my dry patches. It sits comfortably on my lips with a hydrating juicy sheen for good 3-4 hours with mild snacking. My lips feel quite hydrated even after removing this shade off. I do crave for long-lasting coverage from this color, though. I will rate it 4.7/5

Shade 3:
Here’s a milky purple color which has a creamy and glossy consistency. This is probably my least favorite and/or worn color in this palette. I know some beauties love to flaunt such milky colors but I belong to another category. I stay away from such pastel shades as they make me look pale and sick. I still do like its coverage and finish; it comes up equally smooth, juicy and creamy on the lips with nearly full coverage. I am sure people who are inclined towards such pastel shades would love this non-cakey and lightweight color. It does not emphasise the lip lines and dry lips. It stays on for good 3-4 hours on the lips before fading into a soft sheen. I will rate it 4/5!

Shade 4:
A creamy matte plum-pink shade and one of the most used shades in this palette as I am a sucker for such colors. I love how it instantly cheers up my skin tone and mood both. I just need a touch of kohl and this color to make my day, honestly. Texture wise, it is a creamy matte shade. The fact that this is not a true matte shade might disappoint some but I consider it a bonus as this kind of finish is perfect during winter. I do need a few swipes to build up the coverage while it maintains a subtle translucency in its finish, making my lips look fuller and youthful. I feel this lip color will pair best with matte lip liners, considering it will provide the much-needed hydration to my lips even with a matte look. It stays put for good 3-4 hours without emphasizing my dry lips or lip lines. This formula and color definitely deserve to be in this palette, and I will rate it 4.9/5!

Shade 5:
A perfect blend of purple and plum shade, this is one of its kind in this palette with a creamy formula. It provides a smooth, juicy, creamy and glossy finish to my lips with an equally lightweight and non-cakey formula. It does not bleed or feather around the lip lines either; it is perfect for beauties with dry, pigmented lips as well. I do need 2 swipes to build up the coverage and shine, but it’s worth it. It appears purple toned on my lips and might be suitable for beauties with pink-neutral undertones, though it fairs well on my yellowish skin tone as well. Like always, I just crave a better staying power. I would like say that this shade has the potential of becoming a major hit among purple-plum lovers. I rate it 4.5/5!

Shade 6:
Another creamy matte purple plum shade. It appears to be a plum wine shade in the packaging while it comes up as a purple on the lips. If I would ever think of flaunting purple lips then this is the shade I would go for. This is one of those perfect “mera wala purples” which work like a charm on my skin tone. I like how it complements my skin tone without toning it down or screaming for attention. I also like its slippery formula but again I do find it worth it in my winter makeup kit. It also provides buildable coverage with a smooth finish in just a few swipes, maintaining a lightweight translucency. This shade gives the much needed youthful look. Even though this shade does not emphasize my lip lines or dry lips, I would still recommend a scrubbing and moisturising session beforehand. I just wish it stayed longer than just 4 hours. I will rate it 4.5/5!

Shade 7:
It is the last creamy-glossy shade in this palette with light purple hues. I have kind of a love-hate relationship with this shade as it appears different on my fair skin tone. Sometimes, it makes me look gleaming while it appears dull on my skin tone at other times. I have worn this shade only 2-3 times in all these months as light/pastel colors are not my forte. I won’t call it a pastel, though! Moreover, it provides a smooth, non-cakey finish on my lips without accentuating or sitting on dry patches or lip lines. Impressive, huh? It sits comfortably for a few hours on my lips without feathering or emphasizing minor issues. Hence I am pretty sure that the girls who are suckers for such purple colors will love it till eternity. I will rate it 4.5/5!

Shade 8:
A shimmery purple highlighter. Honestly, we were better even without this highlighter. I mean, I don’t see any remarkable change or an added “wow” factor after using this highlighter. I think a normal shimmery highlighter works better for highlighting my cupid’s bow or lip makeup. I tried an ombre lip look with this highlighter and did not find it impressive enough, seriously. It almost looks like a glue-based glitter which takes an effort to spread gracefully on my lips. It provides sheer coverage when used on its own on the lips. It might just be me but creative beauties can find their way with this highlighter. I will rate it 3/5.

Overall:
I think the rating says it all. It is a must-have palette for winters. The wide array of colors, the finish and perfection of this palette can put any high-end palette to shame. In fact, I own n number of high-end lip glosses and lip colors still this palette sits like a king on my vanity table. I would definitely like to get it again for the holidays and travels.
