Apply on the inside or outside of the eyelid to draw attention to your eyes and achieve a glamorous eye make-up result.

I honestly don’t have many L’Oreal eye pencils because I most certainly thought that they would be no better than some other brands like Revlon, Chambor, etc., and I was right. Never mind, my terrible experience with Revlon Magic Eyeliner (yet to be reviewed), I picked up a grey pencil from L’Oreal because I can never have enough of grey eye products and unlike lipsticks and shadows, pencils finish so fast and that is very important for me to see the end of some beauty product before I discard it 😆

The packing is nice and simple, wooden, not twist-up and hence easily sharpened and crisp tip and that’s how I like my pencils to be and not with a rounded off tip and scratchy wooden edges to it.  The pencil is just like many other eye pencils I have, nothing so impressive, but yes, good for the price of 299 I paid.

Coming from L’Oreal with such an affordable price tag, I had to give it a try and the pencil says khol or kohl, so I expected it to be very soft and I wished it would set after application, so it can be used under the lashes or on the lid, but I was wrong. The pencil does not set, it is just like any other smudgy pencil for me.

The color though is called metallic grey, it is just more of a creamy matte grey with almost invisible specks of silver to it and a very very mild sheen to it. Otherwise, I would not call it metallic at all, just grey is a better name for it.

Once applied without primer and base and without sealing it with powder shadow, it does smudge after two hours on my oily lids. So, its so much like many other pencils for me. I would suggest setting it with a black or grey powder shadow before stepping out.

The texture is smooth and soft, but not creamy soft and not crumbly like I would think of a kohl to be. Hence, it hardly shows up on the water line and I reckon is not meant for waterline. It can be used under the lower lash line or in between the lashes, I don’t know how to explain this one and can be used as a pencil liner.

Last Word on L’Oreal Paris Contour Khol Eyeliner Pencil – 132 Metallic Grey:

It’s a nice, above average, good eye pencil, not for the waterline.  It does not set and needs to be set with powder shadow. It does smudge and transfers to upper lid, but for the tag of Rs. 299, it’s a good enough eye pencil in a nice shade.  I recommend trying them at the counter and then seeing if you really fall for a color to pick it up.
