My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Coral Gold Color Riche Gold Obsession Lipstick:

This lipstick comes in a long, square packaging with a colour-coded button on the middle of the tube. This Gold Obsession range has a beautiful gold and black luxury packaging which looks very attractive. The packaging goes perfectly with the name. I really like this tube, and even the shade name is indicated at the bottom.

I love L’Oreal’s packaging as the quality is always so good. The shade Coral Gold is a beautiful bright coral shade with a hint of orange in it. It is a perfect fresh summery colour that suits all skin tones. People who are not comfortable with usual orange lipsticks can also give this shade a try. This shade doesn’t wash out any skin tone and looks so pretty on the lips.

I totally love such cute coral shades, and even this one complements my medium skin tone perfectly. It has gold shimmers but they do not look OTT. This a sheer lipstick range, so it has medium pigmentation, but I can build up the colour. It can’t hide dark, pigmented lips fully, though.

Two to three swipes are enough for nice colour payoff. It is very easy to apply as well. This lipstick has a super smooth and slippery texture that glides effortlessly on the lips. It feels super comfortable and lightweight. I am amazed at its smooth texture. It doesn’t feel patchy or dry.

The brand claims that it sets to a velvety matte texture, but this lipstick has a beautiful glossy finish. This finish makes the shade look very pretty and adds a fuller look to my lips. It is not a matte lipstick, but once the gloss fades away, it turns into a nice matte stain. Though I am a fan of the matte finish, this shade and formula still make me so happy that I can’t resist applying this.

The shimmers present in this lipstick provide a beautiful, illuminating tint to my lips. Since it is a creamy formula it provides a good amount of hydration to the lips and keeps them moisturised for long. It contains jojoba oil, which is great for hydration. This lipstick is perfect for dry lips, in my opinion.

It actually looks even, smooth and soft on the lips. But due to its glossy finish it does transfer a lot and looks faded after a few hours. It doesn’t smudge or look messy but it is not a long-lasting lip colour. It hardly lasts 3-4 hours without any meal. After 2 hours, the colour starts to fade, but it leaves a nice, pretty stain, which lasts long.

Also, it can’t survive a meal. A reapplication is needed after a meal but I do not mind because layering never makes it patchy. It never looks bad or uneven on the lips, so it still looks pretty on the lips. Even shimmers are easy to remove from the lips.

Overall, I love this shade and it is one of the prettiest coral shades I own. It makes me look bright and fresh, and that is just great about this colour. Though it is not a long-lasting lipstick I really like its texture and formula. The staying power is poor and that’s what I do not like about this lipstick.

  1. I love orange/ coral colors for my lips, I think they suit me the most! This seems to be a very good lipstick, Chayanti, and I like how it can be layered without going patchy (that’s super-annoying). I also like your lip swatches – they’re very neat!
