It’s been ages since I bought a hair spray. It took more than a year for me to finish the two cans of John Frieda hair sprays I had. My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Volume Hair Spray:
L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Volume Hair Spray comes in a golden coloured metallic can. The pink colour denotes the “Volume” variant. The head of the can is white in colour, which houses the spray nozzle. There is no cap or a seal, and the packaging is quite simple. The spray button sits behind the nozzle and is super easy to use. Overall, the packaging is lightweight and travel-friendly.
The nozzle dispenses the hair spray as a very fine mist to a wider area, which is a huge plus as the product covers a larger area in one go. The smell is a bit strong and, I’m not a big fan of it. The smell stays for around 1-2 hours after which it fades away. The product, once sprayed, is hardly visible and usually, with the products I have used, it takes a while to dry and settle down. The hair spray vanishes immediately and, I could hardly feel it on my hair. However, you can feel a layer sitting on the hair when you touch it.
The hair spray adds shine to the hair. The product has a shiny finish and creates a sleek and soft finish without making the hair greasy. The product doesn’t add any dramatic volume, so the claims of boosting up the volume are false. The product, once sprayed, holds the volume only at the roots, and one has to tease the hair to create a lift. The product doesn’t make the roots greasy but, for achieving the desired volume, you need to do a lot of work, which is not easy. For now, I have been using it to create a pouffe on my head, and the product does hold it effectively.
Even though L’Oreal claims this spray to be a super strong one, however, the results don’t stay all day long. The product effectively holds the volume for a good 6-7 hours, after which the capacity decreases. The spray has zero benefits if you go out on a windy day. The tiny hair on my scalp that I keep in place with this hairspray, all stand-up and sway in the wind. The product looks very natural on the hair and keeps them soft but, it makes the hair a bit dry, especially after two days, and extra care is needed for the same. But, as alcohol is the base of the product, I would not like to complain. Overall, the hairspray works pretty decently to create a voluminous hairstyle for a party or a function. But, if you have to go out in the wind, this is not the right product.
