Today I am reviewing a shampoo I currently love and it’s from the brand we all love for shampoos…. L’Oreal Paris! I have been a loyal follower of L’Oreal professional shampoos but in winters, my hair get towards the dry side and I need a creamy shampoo for moisturization. So when I saw this on the counter, I couldn’t stop myself, one more thing, this shampoo is not available in India and is only available in shops which stock imported products.
Quantity: 400 ml
Price: Rs 430
Product description: L’Oreal Paris ELVIVE Re-Nutrition Nourishing Shampoo is the secret to complete and lasting nutrition. The formula combines Royal Jelly and Omega 6 to gently cleanse dry hair, restoring hair’s elasticity and suppleness for lasting protection against dryness.
The L’Oreal laboratories have created a new generation of caring, creamy formula, with 2 active ingredients, royal jelly and omega 6. Hair is bathed in nourishing ingredients. The formula promotes active delivery of these elements from root to tip. The nourishing ingredients are held durably along the length of the hair.
The result: Bounce and softness!
Ingredients: Royal jelly, arginine, salicylic acid, Aqua, SLS, dimethicone, sodium chloride, glycol distearate, hydroxypropyl trimonium chloride, cocamide mipa, sodium benzoate, methyl cocoate, benzyl alcohol, linalool, citric acid, hexyl cinnamal, glyceryl linoleate, citric acid, carbomer, parfum fragrance.
Packaging: It comes in a white and yellow bottle with a flip open cap. The cap is not flimsy but I won’t recommend this bottle for travelling. The cap may open and shampoo may spill.
My experience with L’Oreal Paris Elvive Nourishing Cream Shampoo:
First, let me tell you my hair type. I have fine hair which are a little damaged because of the heat products and they turn dry in winters. I use L’Oreal professional volumetric shampoo in summers and have switched to this in winters. I could not find the conditioner in this range so I use my Schwarzkopf spray conditioner. The shampoo is lemon yellow in colour and smells really nice and somewhat similar to honey. It is not runny and just a very little amount is needed for mid-length hair. It lathers quite well and is easy to wash off. I have been using this shampoo since the last 2 months and the results are something which will make me buy this shampoo again.
My dry hair feel completely moisturized now and have become really soft. There is absolutely no coarseness in my hair and the luster is slowly coming back after these 2 months. If I have to summarize in one sentence, this shampoo takes care of your hair’s hydration needs and makes them really soft and lustrous. If u have oily scalp, this shampoo is not for you but in winters, many of us have dry scalps for which this product is definitely recommended. One bad thing with this shampoo is that it contains dimethicone and SLS but does not contain parabens.
Pros of L’Oreal Paris Elvive Nourishing Cream Shampoo:
• Takes care of dry scalps in terms of moisturization.
• Due to adequate moisture, the hair is definitely softer and more lustrous.
• Huge quantity
• A little product is sufficient for mid length hair so this quantity will go a long way.
• Lathers easily and completely easy to remove.
• Does not contain parabens.
Cons of L’Oreal Paris Elvive Nourishing Cream Shampoo:
• Contains dimethicone and SLS.
• Not available in India
• Not for oily scalps.
• Bottle is not travel friendly.
Overall I love this shampoo for my dry hair. The royal jelly completely moisturizes the hair and make my hair definitely more manageable.
