L’Oreal Paris Fiji Flirt Glam Shine 6 Hours Lip Gloss Review

The lip gloss was a gift and I had never tried a L’Oreal lip gloss before. The name in itself is quite exotic, so is the colour. Usually I go for nude shades or shades of red, this is the first time I have tried a pink gloss. L’Oreal claims the product to be shiny, and not sticky. Also, it claims that the gloss moisturises the lips and offers ease of application because of its applicator. Read on to know my take on the product.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Fiji Flirt Glam Shine 6 Hours Lip Gloss:

The product comes in a handy plastic tube with a fancy and sleek design. The shade I will be reviewing today is called Fiji Flirt (sounds exotic, right?) and is a lovely colour which especially suits my pale skin tone, adding colour to my lips and brightening up my face instantly.

The thing I love the most about the packaging is the plastic covering, which seems like a suction pipe, inside the nozzle of the tube, which prevents excess product from coming out, preventing any leakage or wastage. This also ensures that less product sticks to the stick of the wand making it easy and less messy to use (a problem I have faced in every other lip gloss).

It is truly one of a kind, especially since the applicator is extremely user-friendly. A novel idea, you keep wondering why it has not been thought of before. The applicator is bow/heart shaped, making it ideal for even beginners and giving you perfectly lined and plump lips. The first time you use the product you cannot help but notice the sweet, vanilla-esque smell that accompanies it. It really hits you with a surprise and stays for as long as the product stays on. The gloss is tasteless, a fact I am glad about or I would have kept licking it. I truly don’t understand the obsession with good–tasting lip-glosses, it is not food people!!

Getting on to the consistency of the product, much like it claims it stays on for about 6 hours, in my case it stayed for longer. It survived a meal, a few drinks and a face rinse. It really stuck to my lips and gave a nice shade to my pigmented lips. Amazing, right? The product might seem like an unlikely choice for those who are budget conscious, especially with so many cheap options available in the market these days, but I would beg to differ.

One pump is enough to last to throughout the day, so rich is the colour, consistency, and the staying power. Also, the user-friendly packaging ensures no wastage, so you actually end up saving up a lot of money. I have been using it for the past 4 months on regular basis, and it still has not finished. The consistency is so smooth it glides onto your lips without feeling gooey, something which is rare when it comes to lip glosses in general and especially the long-lasting ones. I was scared that the lip gloss would be too frosty and glittery rather, it is shiny but not tacky. Another rare quality of the product is that it does not bleed, something every girl should be grateful to L’Oreal for!

Unlike the claims it made, the product felt a little heavy on my lips all the while. It dried my lips out, instead of providing nourishment to them. Also, while the colour might have survived all those atrocities, the shine of the gloss faded even before the scheduled time of 6 hours. I do not think it even survived half of that!

Maybe, if I am feeling rich. I love the colour and the applicator, but it feels a little heavy on the lips and is not nourishing either.

  1. It does not make your lips look pigmented Vivekina. Such a pretty gloss. You have a very unique name, is there a story behind it? 🙂
