Hope you are having a fun day! Today I am reviewing a recently launched lip product from L’Oreal. This is the L’Oreal Paris Glossy Balm in the shade is Innocent Coral. The shade number is 220.

How to Use:

Apply starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to outer edges of your lips, following the contour of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

My experience withL’Oréal Paris Glossy Balm – Innocent Coral:

Just as every brand seems to have come out with jumbo lip crayons, L’Oréal too has launched their glossy lip balms! These look very much like the Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balms.As far as the color range is concerned, they have 8 shades in total. Let me tell you more about the shade ‘Innocent Coral’.

Packaging:

The packaging of these glossy balms is the same as any chubby stick/jumbo lip pencil format with a twist up mechanism. I love this format, as the pencil gives more precision during application.Moreover- No sharpening required! No product wastage! 🙂
The color of the tube is the same color as the lip balm, which makes it easier to find it in your collection! The tube has a silver cap which fits tightly enough to carry it in your handbag without any worry.

Color:

‘Innocent Coral’ is a beautifulcoral pink shade, which is actually not very bright. It would suit a variety of skin tones and work as an everyday color.

Pigmentation:

This is a hybrid lip product and that too, a glossy one. Pigmentation differs across colors in this range. This particular color, ‘Innocent Coral’, is sheer with just one swipe. But you can build it up to an almost opaque finish.

Smell:

This lip balm is scent-free. Perfect for people with a sensitive nose! But I rather love the minty smell of the Revlon lip balms! I wish these had that scent too! Though this is supposedly scent-free, if you try very hard to find some scent in it (as I did!), you can get a mild scent of crayons!

Texture:

The texture of this lip balm is similar to the Maybelline Color Whisper lipsticks, which has a gel-like texture. It glides easily on the lips, feels slick but not greasy or uncomfortable. It is quite lightweight on the lips and is also quite moisturizing. My lips do not dry out when I wear this.Even though I layer it on to get the maximum coverage possible, it does not feel heavy or patchy.

Finish:

The finish is glossy, but not as glossy as I had expected based on the name. It is definitely not as glossy as a shiny lip gloss and even the initial glossiness lasts for a couple of hours, after which it fades to a sheen. I am totally ok with this as I generally do not like very glossy lip colors!If I apply it on lips not exfoliated properly, it highlights the dry patches because of the glossiness.

Longevity:

Lasts for about 4 hours without eating. It fades evenly and there is no staining of the lips. It does transfer but does not wear off completely after a drink/snack. But it disappears after a meal. If you want to retain the original glossiness, you may have to reapply every two hours or so. Otherwise, reapplying after a meal should suffice.

Pros of L’Oréal Paris Glossy Balm – Innocent Coral:

 Beautiful coral pink shade suitable for all skin tones and for everyday use
 Feels very lightweight and comfortable on the lips
 Moisturizes and prevents lips from drying
 Can be built to an almost opaque finish without it looking patchy
 Easy to use packaging with no sharpening needed.
 Can define lips with precision.
 Decent lasting power
 Scent free

Cons of L’Oréal Paris Glossy Balm – Innocent Coral:

 Not as glossy as the name suggests
 Glossiness lasts only for a couple of hours
 Highlights dry patches on lips due to its glossy nature

Recommendation:

I like this formula of L’Oreal’s version of the glossy lip balm. ‘Innocent Coral’ is a beautiful color and the coverage provided is also pretty good. Definitely worth trying! I hope L’Oreal will also come out with a range of matte lip balms, which I am sure I would enjoy even more! 
