How To Use:

Apply starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to outer edges of your lips, following the contour of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Glossy Balm – Vintage Rose 260:

Packaging:

The packaging of this range of glossy balms from L’Oreal is the same as any chubby stick format with a twist-up mechanism. This is very convenient as the pencil gives more precision during application and also does not need any sharpening. The color of the tube is the same color as the lip balm, which makes it easier to find it in your stash! The tube has a silver cap which fits snugly and you can carry it in your bag without any worry.

Color:

“Vintage Rose” is a pretty mauvy-pink shade which would suit a variety of skin tones. It is great as an everyday color.

Pigmentation:

Among all the colors in this glossy balm range of L’Oreal, there are a few sheer shades and Vintage Rose is one of them. As you can see in the swatch, one swipe hardly deposits any color. You have to go for multiple swipes to get some color. Even then, you will not get a completely opaque application. People who prefer complete coverage should probably skip this shade.

Smell:

This lip balm is scent-free, which is not something I personally like! I would have preferred the minty smell like the Revlon lip balms! But this is good for people who like scent-free products.

Texture:

This lip balm has an almost gel-like texture. It glides easily on the lips, feels slick but not greasy or uncomfortable. It is quite lightweight on the lips and is also quite moisturizing. My lips do not dry out when I wear this. Even though I layer it on to get the maximum coverage possible, it does not feel heavy or patchy.

Finish:

The finish is glossy, but not as glossy as I had expected based on the name. It is definitely not as glossy as a shiny lip gloss and even the initial glossiness lasts for a couple of hours, after which it fades to a sheen.

Longevity:

Lasts for about 4 hours without eating. It fades evenly and there is no staining of the lips. It does transfer but does not wear off completely after a drink/snack, but it disappears after a meal. If you want to retain the original glossiness, you may have to reapply every two hours or so. Otherwise, reapplying after a meal should be enough.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase L’Oreal Paris Glossy Balm – Vintage Rose 260?

I like the formula of these L’Oreal glossy lip balms and this one is no exception. “Vintage Rose” is a very pretty everyday shade but I wish it could have been more pigmented. Try it out only if you are looking for a sheer finish. You can check out the other shades in this range for a more opaque finish.
