L’Oreal Paris Infallible 8HR Pro Gloss – #320 Red Fatale Review

Hello friends,

Hope all of you are doing fine! Today, I am here to share a lovely shade from L’Oreal’s Infallible Pro Gloss range, which came along with the Pro Matte Gloss range.  The two ranges differ in their finishes – the Pro Gloss range is completely juicy and glossy with a subtle translucent finish while the Pro-Matte glosses have a creamy, semi-matte texture with a subtle glossy sheen. I was lucky enough to lay my hands on these beauties and I have shared them earlier in my mini haul post as well. So, let’s get started with the review of Red Fatale right now.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Infallible 8HR Pro Gloss – #320 Red Fatale:

This gloss comes in the usual curvy plastic tube packaging with a leaf-shaped doe-foot applicator attached to a glossy black cap. It does have a funny smell, but it no longer bothers me since I am using them regularly now.  Overall, I like the sleek, lightweight, and travel-friendly packaging.

Red lip gloss tube

Talking about the shade “Red Fatale,” it looks a bright neon orange-red gloss in the tube and gives the exact same color payoff on the lips.  Such orange-red colors complement my light skin complexion with yellow undertones very well, but my primary concern is with its sticky finish – it feels so sticky on the lips, just like Infallible Pro Last lip color.

Loreal lip gloss

Surprisingly, the consistency of this particular gloss is so different than the other thick glosses as I see no thick sticky texture, just a wet shine gloss. The texture of this gloss is neither thick nor watery, just perfect to give a juicy wet shine on the lips, but somehow, it never dries into a stain (just like other pro-matte glosses) and it starts getting so sticky with transferring as well!

Red lip gloss applicator

Luckily, I have Infallible pro-last lip colors, hence I often swipe the balm to get rid of the sticky feeling, but this can be a turn off for many of us. Moreover, I see that using a lip liner beneath the gloss also helps tackle the sticky finish.

Loreal lip gloss pro

This lip gloss gives quite an even finish with buildable coverage with subtle translucency in just 1-2 swipes. This also means that it will smartly forgive minor lip flaws like dry patches and lip pigmentation up to a good extent. In fact, it does not set into the lip lines or dry patches and it won’t highlight or accentuate them further.

I also feel that this gloss keeps my lips hydrated as long as the color stays on my lips. The maximum staying power that I have noticed with this shade is 5 hours with light snacks and meals.  It evenly fades off from the lips with no patchy or streaky stain. It does leave a subtle red tint on the lips, but it looks pretty good on its own. I see that wearing a lip liner beneath the shade can provide full 8 hours of coverage and staying power, hence no issues.

Hand swatch

Overall, I feel that other than the sticky finish, this shade is pretty decent, but I am in two minds whether to look over this stickiness.  I personally love this color and its juicy finish on the lips. I would recommend using it over a lip liner or topping it with a clear gloss balm, else you might like to skip it as well.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of L’Oreal Paris Infallible 8HR Pro Gloss – #320 Red Fatale:

  • A bright neon orange-red gloss with a juicy translucent finish.
  • It has a perfect juicy consistency and gives a wet glossy finish on the lips with intense hydrating properties.
  • It gives buildable color pay off with 1-2 swipes concealing light to medium lip pigmentation as well.
  • Stays put for good 5-6 hours with slight transferring and light meal/snacks.
  • Fades evenly with heavy meals, leaving behind a subtle red tint which looks good by itself.
  • Does not bleed or settle into the lip lines.
  • Does not highlight lip flaws, does not accentuate them.
  • Very different than those drying glosses from the Infallible Pro-Last lip color and Pro-Matte range.
  • Quite an attractive packaging.

Cons of L’Oreal Paris Infallible 8HR Pro Gloss – #320 Red Fatale:

  • The shade feels sticky on the lips, just like Infallible Pro-Last Step 1 lip colors.
  • I need a lip liner or top coat to sort out that uncomfortable sticky feel on the lips.
  • Does not stay for 8 hours on the lips without a lip liner.
  • Does smudge and transfer easily.

IMBB Rating:

Well, I can still live with its decent staying power, but that sticky uncomfortable feeling on the lips for the initial few minutes after application is a deal breaker for me.  I will rate it 3.8/5.

    1. The color might vary as per the lens but in person its exactly same on hand vs on lips megha 🙂 The high glossy shine of this red shade tricks often behind lens as it comes faded in camera pic due to reflection! Have you tried it urself?

      1. This color also varies as per skin tone, hand swatch is fairer side with neutral pink undertones while lip swatches are taken on lighter/pale skin tone with yellow undertones so it is likely to give diff hue on diff skin tones further 🙂

    1. Thank you vishakha 🙂 so sweet of u! I agree that shade and staying power is pretty gud just that it feels sticky on lips.
