Hope all of you are enjoying the onset of this balmy weather with upcoming dandiya season as well. I can already see chaniya cholis and dandiya sticks around. Wow! I have gone crazy with shopping this time; I feel my hubby would soon disown my shopping bills. 😛 But this is the only season of the year when we, women, get to enjoy pure ethnics with full grace and colorful matching accessories. Yay! This navratri I am planning to sport every possible popular Indian ethnic look right from Marathi mulgi look to Bengali boudi, my own Kumaoni wear as well as sporting south Indian temple jewellery.
Let’s see how far my fascination & passion leads me. Anyway I am here today to share my new find with you all. I was not much convinced with their Pro-Last lip color range, I am quite impressed with these two-step nail colors though. These are two-step nail colors in one packaging that consists of an intensely pigmented nail color and a top coat. How cool is that! So let’s read more about these!

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Nailcolor Beyond Blushing, Infinite Lilac, Berry Chic:
Well if you have noticed the Infallible Pro-Last lip color range, then you can definitely find resemblance in their packaging. These nail colors are also interestingly packaged with step 1 ebing the pigmented color and its top coat being step 2. Amazing, huh! I totally adore its packaging while I find it convenient to store since both the bottles come with separate, tightly fitted caps. Hence we can even store them separately or with the packaging, as per choice.
I am also pleasantly surprised by their brush applicators that are the real winners here. Both the brushes included in the step 1 and top coat bottles are quite sturdy, hold their bristles tight , and impart a neat & clean finish. I can paint all 5 finger nails of my one hand in one stroke. Yes, they hold the product well, are good enough to paint every nook & corner of my nails in just one stroke. The top coat’s brush is a real treat as it gives a nice, glossy finish with one gentle swipe.
Talking about shades, oh man, they are just gorgeous! I went all crazy in the store to decide which one should I pick up first as it was so difficult to leave the store with just 3 shades. Finally I came home with my favorite shades : Beyond Blushing, Infinite Lilac & Berry Chic, considering their universal usage and compatibility with my skin tone. I see that they really last long, not more than 12-14 days, but they do manage to stay intact without chipping beyond a week very easily. I am sure people who are blessed to skip all household works will enjoy their colorful nails for as long as 2 weeks.
I can see my toe retaining the color for as long as 3 weeks now, that too without chipping and/or fading. My only concern is that all the three shades I have bought give a bit translucent finish on my nails, and I cannot skip the top coat as they tend to feel sticky whenever I touch them with my fingers. Moreover, the top coat gives them high-shine that stays put for good 1-2 weeks without disturbing the actual color payoff. The good thing is that I can make use of those top coats with any nail color and not just these L’Oreal ones. Now let me introduce the actual colors briefly:
1. Beyond Blushing
My real favorite pastel pink shade with hint of shimmers (that are not visible on the nails, surprisingly). Even like any pastel shade, it does tend to come up a bit sheer on my nails, but with two swipes I see decent color payoff with no streaky or goopy finish. It comes up with sheer, orange top coat that does not impart color on my nails. Hence it does not interfere with the pink color payoff. In fact, the top coat simply enhances the actual color with its high shine, glossy finish which also takes care of minor flaws such as flaky finish. Yes gals, the top coat is like a magic wand which simply takes the pigmentation to beyond perfection, just like freshly applied gel coat.
The texture of Beyond Blushing nail color is quite perfect – neither watery nor thick; perfect enough to coat my nails with no streaky or feathery finish. It nicely adheres and gets dried faster to give shiny finish on its own. But I feel a need to top it up with step 2 top coat as it helps in preventing that ‘chip-chip’ sticky feel. You know what I mean? The shade, along with top coat, managed to stay for good 10- 12 days. There is no doubt this is one of my go-to pink shades as I am very choosy about wearing pink pastel shades. I will rate this 4.5/5!
2. Infinite Lilac
A milky, pastel, lavender shade which is show-stealer, and another summery shade which will always show up in my nail paint stash. Yes gals, I love it from the core of my heart for that sexy finish and oh-so-glamorous color payoff it gives. It also complements my skin tone so well without making it look darker. The texture of the nail lacquer is also pretty awesome with a buttery consistency that is easily workable on nails. It also gives slightly sheer coverage in one swipe, hence two swipes are recommended with every nail lacquer to get evenly coated finish.
It comes up with pale blue translucent top coat which does not interfere with the actual lavender color on my nails; it simply enhances the overall finish. I see exactly the same shade on my nails as seen in tube after putting both, the base coat and top coat. This shade managed to stay for almost 12 days with its glossy finish intact. Even there are times when it managed to stay for as long as 2 weeks on my left hand, hence I can totally swear by their claims.
However I also have similar concerns with this shade – it tends to feel slightly sticky to me if I skip the top coat. Hence the top coat seems kind of necessary to keep the color, finish and glossiness intact. Other than this, I have no major concerns; just that I fear these these bottles are too tiny. I will rate it 4.8/5!
3. Berry Chic
Oh man, this is a breathtaking and jaw dropping shade, best suited for fall! A shimmer-free berry shade with hints of pink-purple undertone, that’s how I can describe it. It simply enhances my complexion manifolds whenever I wear it. I have never seen such a beautiful shade before, hence it goes straight to my must-have list for ever. It goes well with my fall attires, even it pairs really well with all my ethnic wear somehow. This is a must-have shade for winters whether you consider it for western or traditional ethnic outfits.
The texture of this shade is very similar to other two, just that it is more opaque yet subtle translucent. But, all this adds to the beauty. I get nearly 90% coverage with this shade on first swipe, though I need second swipe to even out the finish of my nails. It also comes up with a blue top coat which enhances the look of this berry shade, and makes it to more soft & wearable. I mean, despite being such deep shade, it does not look gothic on my fair skin tone. How cool is this! I find it lasts really long; it just goes on & on unless I remove it intentionally after 1.5 weeks or so.
However I can see that sometime it starts chipping from the corners of my nails, but it is still manageable and does not look odd. It gives a really nice gel-like finish to my nails along with high shine. This is really commendable for a drugstore brand. Though I see that the price tag it comes with is not quite drugstore-like. 😛 Still it is way better than OPI and Essie, if I put it this way. I have to get it again & again (by the way this is my second bottle from this brand). I have the same concerns about tacky feel, but still I will rate it 5/5.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Nailcolor Beyond Blushing, Infinite Lilac, Berry Chic:
• Such priceworthy, show stopper shades with brilliant finish
• All the 3 shades I bought are drop dead gorgeous and give such high shine, gel finish on my nails
• The texture of step 1 nail color is neither runny nor thick, just perfect
• The sheer, glossy top coat simply enhances the finish
• The brush applicator with both base coat and top coat is beyond perfection
• The brush applicator gives streak free, even finish to every nook & corner of my nails as it holds its stiff texture with fine bristles
• Neither the base coat nor the top coat gives streaky or goopy finish; they both are just perfect and enhance wear time, finish and texture of my nails together
• I really get a gel-type finish, high shine color payoff with long lasting wear time
• Such a user friendly and travel friendly concept
Cons of L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Nailcolor Beyond Blushing, Infinite Lilac, Berry Chic:
• The actual pigmented shade feels a bit tacky on its own which needs to be topped with a glossy top coat
• I wish the quantity of the pigmented nail color were bit more
• Considering the actual quantity of colored shade, I feel they are pricey
Well honestly, I don’t hold any major complaints with these nail lacquers. But somehow, I feel that the top coat could have been avoided with every shade. I hope I get to see them in discount. 😛 L’Oreal claims to provide us high-end finish with these low budget nail paints, and let me tell you that these nail colors fulfil all of the claims. I won’t say these nail colors can replace OPI Gel Nail Colors or other high end products, but they certainly need ovation for this innovation and efficient results. You need to try them!
