Have a good day you all! I am here to share the first gorgeous beauty from L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss range, which is one of the four beauties I selected a while back in a haul. For the price I paid, I am really impressed with the quality, finish and self-adjusting texture of this product. Now I won’t say that these are the best lip paints cum glosses I have ever tried, but they surely seem good value for money. Let’s read more about L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss Blushing Ambition now.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss Blushing Ambition:
The gloss comes in a transparent, plastic curvy tube packaging with a leaf shaped applicator cap. It does have a slightly funky smell which might be a turnoff for sensitive noses. Even I don’t like the smell much. Thankfully, it subsides after a while. I also like its leaf-shaped applicator which helps in lining my lips and in adding color. Over all, I find it pretty attractive, user friendly & travel friendly, packaging-wise.
My shade, Blushing Ambition, is a warm rosy pink shade in tube, but it comes up as a bright milky pink on my lips. I see that such pinks are not everyone’s cup of tea, though I see many people sporting such tricky shades. In fact, I see myself wearing this shade comfortably with foundation and setting powder, but not on bare skin. Talking about the texture, it has absolutely mousse-kind of formula. The formula is almost similar to that of Tarte Tarteist Lip Paints. Now obviously, Tarte will hold first position with its high-end price, but L’Oreal has done a real good job with these liquid lipstick cum glosses.
This particular shade is nearly opaque and gives medium to full coverage in just two swipes. I also see a self-adjusting finish with this shade. I mean it always sets to smooth, powdery, semi-matte finish no matter how frequently I purse my lips. I did not purse my lips due to its non-drying, non-sticky formula; I was just testing it for the review to see how the formula and texture fair. Otherwise, I never feel like licking or pursing my lips together as it has such a comfortable, creamy and semi-matte finish.
The difference between the Tarte and L’Oreal ones is visible in finish and texture. But even this L’Oreal gloss does not feel drying. Being a semi-matte, creamy gloss, it does deposit a powdery residue on lips, but it sets to a beautiful matte finish after few hours. It doesn’t settle into the lip lines or cling to dry patches. But still, well scrubbed and moisturized lips will help to achieve picture-perfect finish with these glosses. They are not hydrating, balmy glosses, but they won’t overtly dry my lips or accentuate any issues.
The gloss glides like wet lipstick on my lips, setting into a non-drying, semi-matte, pigmented finish. This finish further sets into a matte stain. Over all, it does not have an impressive staying power as it sometimes starts fading in patches after light meal. But most of the time, it can stay up to 4-5 hours easily without fading or looking patchy. It will need re-application after one heavy meal as the texture & finish are tricky, so only a touch-up won’t do. I think that other than the staying power, there is nothing to be concerned when it comes to these glosses.
However beauties seeking completely matte finish might feel dejected as it is not going to set into a completely matte stain. But I like it this way as I am not a fan of fully matte glosses. Personally, I might not get this shade again as I have plenty of such pinks in my stash. I would highly recommend these glosses to everyone, even beauties with pigmented and dry lips can try them.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss Blushing Ambition:
• Bright yet warm, wearable pink with semi-matte finish
• Gives medium to full coverage in just two swipes
• Wet, mousse-like texture
• Not overtly drying; creamy
• Neither dries the lips out nor accentuates lip issues
• Always adjusts to a powdery, semi-matte yet smooth finish
• Does not settle into the lip lines
• Stays on for decent 4-5 hours with light meals
• Attractive packaging
Cons of L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss Blushing Ambition:
• The shade might be tricky for many Indian skin tones
• Has a really funny smell
• Needs complete re-application after one heavy meal
• Won’t look flattering dry, parched lips
• Never sets into a completely matte finish
I feel L’Oreal has done a pretty good job with these innovative glosses. In fact, this range is at par with many similar high-end ranges. I am sure you will like it, unless you are looking for fully matte or fully satin finish.
