How are you doing today? We are all set for our upcoming vacation in India and I am so excited to meet my parents and my family after 3 long years. Gosh! I wish this trip becomes the most cherish-able and memorable trip for both of us and our kiddo who is visiting our home land for the very first time. I hope our gal is able to cope up with changes.
Everyone is eagerly waiting to get the first glimpse of our gal which makes us little nervous & happy at the same time; let’s see how it goes. Fingers crossed!
By the way, I am also here to share my new L’Oreal purchase with you all which seems a fresh launch from its Infallible range! Yes gals, L’Oreal launched its infallible make-up range a while back and here I bring you the review for L’Oreal Paris Nude Beige Infallible Pro-Matte Powder which seems another good product after L’Oreal True Match Mineral Powder. Let’s see how it is!

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Powder:
L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Powder comes in as usual sleek, sturdy and transparent packaging with inbuilt mirror and sponge applicator. I love its white sponge applicator which is perfect for achieving medium-sheer coverage apart from using it for touch ups. Over all, I find it quite price worthy and travel friendly product so far in terms of packaging. I reckon their shade selection is quite versatile and perfect for variety of Indian skin tones with medium-tan skin. I found Nude Beige to be the closest match for my pale light skin.
Well, let me tell you that this L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Powder does live up to its claims to a very good extent, but only when used over makeup and not alone. I tried using it alone as well as over my foundation and while it gave me 8+ hours of matte skin over makeup, I had to re-apply it over my bare skin after 6-8 hours.
However, it is still satisfactory considering my oily, acne prone skin as it is gentle on skin and never broke me out plus in any case, it does not look cakey or chalky on my skin. Moreover, it does seem slight powdery in texture, but it literally absorbs every single trace of oil off my skin leaving behind squeaky clean & dry surface that too with no dryness or ugly patches. Amazing, isn’t?
At first, I was worried that it would accentuate dryness considering its pro-matte claim as I have often noticed that many matte powders tend to make our skin too dry with flakes accentuating those laugh lines & fine lines around the eyes. Thankfully, it did not settle in dry patches or sink inside my pores; even, it does not accentuate those fine lines around lips or eyes luckily.
I can compare this pressed powder to my previous Tarte Amazonian Clay Powder in many aspects as in the sponge applicator seems quite similar and the results are almost same on my skin.
Secondly, Tarte also gives me 6+ hours of matte skin which is quite similar to that of L’Oreal Pro-Matte Powder. The only thing is that Tarte ingredients are more skin friendly and L’Oreal still needs to improve over ‘talc’ & other ingredients. Other than this concern, I totally like it over Tarte pressed powder! All I need is to swipe it gently over my skin and it will erase that shine and oil within seconds with no chalky residue just natural clean skin behind.
I also love that the sponge applicator not only gives effortless blending and touch ups, but it’s super easy to clean with soap water and dries up fast within 10-12 hours with no shrinking or issues so far. I cleaned it twice and it still seems like new. Great, haan!
Comparing it to their own L’Oreal True Match Mineral Powder, I think I would prefer this one over mineral powder, for summers especially; though, talc seem bothering to me in both products. I wish L’Oreal improves their ingredient list to make it an HG skin product as well as make up product for girls like me! If you are fine with talc then I would definitely recommend this L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Powder to every girl, especially oily, combination skin with/without acne prone skin.
Pros of L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Powder:
• Instant mattifying powder that lives up to its claim up to good extent.
• Gentle on even acne prone skin .
• Instantly soaks every trace of oil from skin leaving behind crisp dry skin.
• Does not leave any chalky or powdery residue on skin unlike other powders.
• Gives perfect matte skin without over drying or causing any further dryness on my super sensitive skin.
• Does not settle in dry patches and/or pores.
• Does not accentuate or highlight fine lines around lips, eye area luckily.
• Effectively stays put for good 6+ hours on my bare skin while it gives me 8+ hours of shine free skin over primer-foundation.
• Does not clog my pores nor causes any break outs.
• The sponge applicator is USP of this powder that gives effortless blending results.
• Even this sponge applicator gives perfect matte finish with gentle touch ups.
• The sponge is very easy to clean and does not shrink or change its texture irrespective of multiple washes.
Cons of L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Powder:
• I never noticed more than 10 hours of shine free results on my skin hence 16 hours claim seems false.
Well, even if it does not live up to its claims completely, it is still a winner for decent results and good quality sponge this time and honestly, I am happier with this re-usable & washable sponge.
I might get it again. Though, not now as I have lot of products to finish off.
