L'Oreal Paris Open Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Quad

Since it’s the wedding season, most of us are getting dolled up to go to receptions and many of us are tying the knot, busy shopping, and hence “makeup” should be on top of the list 😀 So, I got some things to show you girls, especially apt for the season, some matching shadows for our green sarees in the trousseau and some shimmery lipsticks in bricks and plums, all from L’Oreal.  So, good news for all-non matte and non-crème lipstick lovers as I am soon going to review shimmery lipsticks, totally apt for the wedding season, right to pick up for your vanity case and bang-on for the “post-wedding dressing-up” for lunches and dinners.

So, I picked up a “non-neutral, non-brown, non-office wear, non-every day” kind of eyeshadow from L’Oreal and this will be perfect for your green dresses, which I think most of us have for parties. The shade that I got is not an emerald kind of green, not a mehendi green, but it’s a deeper green, very smokey, very sophisticated and very “party season,” with a perfect blend of some shimmer, some soft green and a deeper smokey green.

quad

The quad does not have details mentioned in English, I don’t know why and I should have checked this at the counter, but I did not, may be I should have read something, never mind; L’Oreal quads and trios have all similar instructions which I never use, all of us use it our own way, but I had to look up the quad name to mention in the review :stars:

quad

Off late, I have been happy with L’Oreal shadows, I have some trios in Color Appeal, which my sister had sent from Australia and now some quads, reviewed on the rachida brackni shade already and now this one.  The shades I remember were some four to five, a blue, a wine and a pink and then one neutral brown I think; beige harmony, purple harmony, turquoise one also.

quad

Why I chose this over the trios is that these give you more choice and if you have limited shadows with you, then you can go ahead and use just a single shade from this and maybe mix and match for bigger occasions.  These are better than singles that I have reviewed in “Metal Plum,” which costs you more than 400 and still give you limited choice, hence this quad, I do agree it is a bit overpriced at Rs. 700/-, but you get some four varieties of greens in there.

quad

There is a very cute part of this shadow I liked and that is the tiny mirror which is very clear and you can see your one eye it 😀 and may be touch-up makeup too.  The applicator is simple, one side for precise liner application and another one which is a regular shadow applicator side. All in all, it’s a good package with a creamy, very high shimmer, for highlighting under the eyebrows or for inner corner like they mention.  This shade is so shimmery that some green shimmer flies off here and there when you swipe it across.

quad

Then, there is a very bright whitish green, more like a silver duochrome one, which you get the maximum of, for all-over application; a soft matte green in the centre which I find to be least pigmented, and then an extremely-pigmented deeper green for “liner” kind application or crease work like I would.  The last minimum green that you get is so pigmented that you really need very little of this to not go overboard and the shades are rightly sized. The deeper green may have some fallout too.  You can go with a single shade too for day wear and may be use the softer matte in the centre and the lighter one for under the brow and skip the shimmer and deep green altogether.

quad

The staying power is good for me, around four to five hours without base and without any obvious creasing too. These don’t need a base for the color to show up and are very build-able too.  These shadows are not those types which “set” once they are blended, they still stay powdery.  I recommend this for parties this season and to dusky beauties as well. Green suits most of our Indian skin tones rather than vivid blues and hence I picked this one.

Last Word on L’Oreal Paris Open Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Quad:

Apart from the cost, I don’t think anything should hold you back from getting this shadow.  These pigmented, soft, and creamy kind of shadows give you a lot of variety with glamour and staying power. I like the sturdy packaging too.  Do try these at the counter.

  1. Beautiful review neha. I was so expecting to see EOTD after reading it.. would have loved to see it on ur eyes.. :waaa: :waaa:

  2. neha I saw these at the store and I was quite impressed with the pigmentation but 5 hours without creasing is :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: Loved these shade of green. Easier to carry as opposed to the brighter greens. Do an eotd one of these days…whenever you are comfortable. :puchhi:
