Skin Tone – Medium, NC42, warm undertones
The shade that I am going to review today from the L’Oreal Paris Mega Lip Gloss range, “Protest Queen,” is definitely not the most flattering shade out there, but still, I wanted to try it out as this range has managed to create such a buzz in the beauty world, and it’s hard to leave a shade out đ

Product Description:
Our “no compromise” gloss is here. Â The formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid and shine colour pigments, leaving lips hydrated with a high level of shine. Enjoy a glossy look, without stickiness. The lip shaper applicator contours and hugs lips for a perfect glossy pout, all day.
My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Protest Queen 103 Infallible Mega Lip Gloss:
This lip gloss comes in a regular packaging, which is transparent hence you can see the color through it. The applicator sponge is pretty unique in shape, one dip is enough to cover the lips as the sponge has a reservoir kind of a thing in middle that stores the gloss. The tip of the sponge is pointed, hence it is easy to reach the corners of the mouth and to give definition to the Cupidâs bow. Overall, the lip gloss has a smart and classy packaging.
The texture of the lip gloss is more like a lip gel, in my opinion. The good thing about this gloss is that it is absolutely non-sticky in texture, yet provides a good dose of moisture to the lips. The pigmentation is medium to buildable, but I generally like to put on a single swipe as I do not want the uncomfortable heavy feel on the lips. If youâve pigmented lips like me, I would suggest wearing a lip liner beneath, as that would prolong the staying power and also cover the pigmentation on the lips.
The shade “Protest Queen” would not suit too many Indian complexions. It looks awful on my skin tone and pigmented lips. The shade is a mix of pink and beige which is way too light for me. If you are very fair and have naturally pink lips, you can try this shade. Also, this can be applied on top of matte/satin lip colors to add oomph. I wore it on bare lips for the lip swatch and please donât kill me for that!
The staying power depends on the food/fluid intake and also on the base on which it is applied. Without any base, it stays on my lips for 2-3 hours, after which, it starts fading and reapplication is a must. It does not leave any cheap stain behind, which is a pro for me. With a lip liner beneath, the staying power of the lip gloss can be extended up to 5 hours maximum. As I am not a big fan of glosses, I am not too excited about this lip gloss range from L’Oreal, but if you love wearing glosses, do try this range at the store; they have various finishes like cream, matte, dazzle, etc.
