My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique Lipstick 905 Vin Exquis:

Let’s begin with the packaging of this baby. L’Oreal Paris always come up with really interesting and attractive packaging. The lipstick comes in a gorgeous black and metallic pink packaging. The lipstick tube is matte black in color and has a beautiful metallic pink cap. This cap shuts very securely making a click sound and ensures that the lipstick packaging is purse friendly. The metallic pink packaging looks quite girly and attractive. There is a color-coded sticker at the base of the tube, which bears the shade name and number. Since the packaging is opaque, I store these lipsticks upside down to easily spot the shade by checking the color-coded stickers. The lipstick has a normal twist-up mechanism, which works pretty smoothly. The lipstick has a regular bullet shape, which facilitates easy and smooth application. The lipstick bullet is quite firm and does not break or detach from the base. Overall, I love the packaging of these lipsticks.

“Vin Exquis” is a bright plum shade. According to the brand, this shade is nice and flattering for medium skin tones. It will perfectly suit most Indian skin tones. This is a perfect party shade. The color is bold and bright. It is not for weak-hearted people. The color is too bold for daytime wear but it is a gorgeous shade for evening parties. It instantly brightens up my face and adds a nice glam feature to the entire look.

Being a bold lip color, the shade cannot be worn on an everyday basis. The lipstick does not contain any sheen or shimmer. It sets to a soft, velvety, and matte finish initially and later on looks perfect matte on the lips. The formula is amazingly pigmented. One swipe gives semi-opaque coverage and covers the pigmentation of the lips to a great extent. I apply two coats to get the perfect and even color on the lips. The color spreads evenly on the lips and never gets patchy. There is no significant smell in this lipstick.

The texture of the lipstick is amazing. Most of the matte lipsticks feel drying after some time, but the formula of this lipstick is buttery smooth. It goes pretty smoothly on the lips without causing any dragging. The texture is soft and buttery smooth.

Since, it is a matte lip color, it has the tendency to cling to the dry patches of the lips, which is seen in almost every matte lip color, so prior exfoliation and moisturization of the lips well is mandatory. It is so lightweight and feels super comfortable on the lips. It does not have a thick and heavy texture. The lipstick is very moisturizing and nourishing. It is non-drying matte lipstick. It keeps my lips hydrated all the time. It looks lovely on the lips and never gets patchy. The color stays at place and does not budge even after meals. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips & looks smooth on the lips.

The lipstick lasts for approximately 6-7 hours on my lips with a little fading. It survives light meals but does not survive a heavy meals and it fades from the center of the lips. The lipstick leaves a light stain behind, which can be taken off easily with a good makeup remover.
