My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique Lipstick 924 Secret Date:
Packaging: Trust me, the packaging would thrill you instantly. The lipstick tube is gorgeous! If you want to add a luxurious touch to your vanity, that too with a budget-friendly option, then this one would be the perfect choice ☺ That said and done, the lipstick itself comes in a beautiful matte black tube with a metallic pink cap and comes wrapped inside a transparent plastic wrapper which bears the name of the product and the ingredients list.
Once you remove it, you are just left with the tube having the shade name printed at the bottom. Unlike regular lipsticks, the cap of this lipstick has a slightly slanted design. It shuts tightly with a click, allowing you to toss the lipstick into your handbag for on-the-go touch ups.
Shade/Pigmentation: One shade that would look stunning on all skin tones – that’s “Secret Date” for you. It’s a beautiful light pink shade with purple undertones. In the tube, it looks more of a peachy-brown shade, but once you apply it, you would fall in love with the cool-toned pink color over and over again ☺ You can pair it up with any eye makeup. Be it a festive kind or the neutral kind, this one goes with any look! And, this one shade would look great in all seasons. Not to mention, the pigmentation is simply awesome! A single swipe is enough to hide the lip pigmentation. Intense matte for a reason ☺
Texture: Speaking about the texture, the lipstick glides smoothly on the lips. It settles down to a soft creamy matte finish, which reminds me of the Maybelline Creamy Matte lipsticks. The lipstick doesn’t accentuate fine lines, making it wearable on chapped lips as well. Precisely, it provides a non-drying matte finish and feels comfortable. It doesn’t smudge much, but with oily meals, it does smudge a bit.
This particular shade leaves a stain behind, which can be easily removed with a good makeup remover. Also, since the lipstick has a creamy texture, it has the tendency to transfer slightly.
Staying Power: Just like the packaging and the shade score with uniqueness, “Secret Date” wins in this category as well. It stays for around 6 to 7 hours with a little fading. And, this lipstick is waterproof as well ☺ It survives normal meals, and I love how rich the color looks even after 5 hours because of which it doesn’t require a reapplication unless and until you have a heavy meal.
