I have brown eyes, hence I always incline towards plum eye makeup. I have already tried the Purple Priority from this range and when I came across this gorgeous, shimmery plum shade, I simply picked it up without any second thoughts. My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Smoldering Plum Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow:
This eye shadow comes in a usual, miniature, cute tub packaging with a safety plastic lid and a tightly fitted cap. I find it pretty user friendly and travel friendly. Talking about my shade Smoldering Plum, is a shimmery, blackish-plum eye shadow with hint of red undertones. Hence, it always looks different under different lights and on different skin tones. It comes up as an intense plum on my skin with a bit frosty finish at times, but no issues with that shimmery finish as I can balance it with right makeup skills.
I am quite impressed by its velvety-creamy texture, which is so intense that a gentle touch gives full color payoff on my eyelids, that too without any primer. Wow! By the way, this type of creamy texture is always tricky for brush application. Hence I feel more comfortable when I apply this shadow with my fingers or with a sponge applicator. Somehow brushes are always messy for this eye shadow. However once set, it is pretty easy to gently blend this shadow with a brush.
In fact, my friends wear these eye shadows on daily basis and they suggested me to use a damp brush for intense color payoff and to minimize fall out. I am yet to try this trick as I am fully satisfied with my fingertips at the moment. What surprises me more is that it never comes up streaky or patchy on my oily eyelids, whether I wear a primer or not. I just need to gently tap it on my eyelids to deposit intense color on the outer V, or to use it as an all over lid color. It has never disappointed me.
I haven’t experienced 24 hours of wear time so far, but I am quite happy with its 8+ hours of wear time on my oily lids, to be honest. Considering it is a shimmery shade, I was a bit hesitant at first, but it is not at all tricky. However, we need to use the best tools with this and that’s an easy task for any beauty junkie. I love this one more than my previous purple shade and would like to get it again. I definitely recommend this smoldering shade to everyone considering its intense pigmentation, streak free & smooth finish which stays put for around good 10+ hours.

• Shimmers are not over powering
• Gives intense pigmentation in just 1-2 swipes without much fallout
• Good color payoff
• Feels silky and appears slightly frosty, even without a primer
• Can be intensified with multiple swipes
• Stays put for good 8+ hours on oily eyelids
• Does not crease or look uneven
• Shimmer does not travel on my face
• Good packaging and pretty affordable
Cons of L’Oreal Paris Smoldering Plum Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow:
• Shimmers are not everyone’s preference
• Application is tricky with brushes
• 24 hours claim is a bit exaggerated
Well except the applicator issue, I have no issues with this eyeshadow. It blends easily, though it takes time to realize if I am going overboard because it is intensely pigmented and shimmery. I find it perfect for the price and performance.
