L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Brow Liner Review

Hello lovely gals,

I had recently reviewed Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer, which is a great product but the price – “Ouch”!! So. recently during traveling, when I came across this new L’Oreal Super Liner Brow Liner, I decided to give it a whirl. Let’s see how this one performed:
L'Oreal Paris Super Liner Brow Liner

Product Description:
I wasn’t able to garner product information on this one from any website. Looks like it’s a new release and that too for South East Asia. There is some stuff written on the pencil itself, but it seems to be in 2-3 different East Asian languages like Chinese/Korean/Vietnamese. So in all probability, all info pertaining to this would be available on the internet, but in the local language of the country it has been floated in – like China, Korea, etc.

Packaging:
The packaging is quite good and efficient. For one, there is a tamper-proof outer layer (which had ingredients mentioned on it). You know packaging makes a difference to me, especially when it concerns providing a safety seal for the customers.  The pencil itself is a regular sharpenable pencil with a decent spoolie brush at the other end.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Brow Liner:

This was pretty much a blind purchase because even though it was put up on display in the outlet, there was no tester. So, I couldn’t really figure the texture or color before buying. I did try to search online about it, but I barely got a couple of posts. Like I mentioned earlier, probably all reviews on this product would be in the language of the country in which this has been floated. Most of the Chinese, Japanese, Korean girls who blog, do so in their own language.

Shade: The shade is a deep dark chocolate brown color. Initially, I felt that it had a bit of red in it, which probably wouldn’t suit my brows – I prefer a cooler ashy-brown shade. However, the shade blends in fairly well and does not look off at all. This shade would work for “most” Asian girls. However, one size does not fit all, so exceptions are bound to be there.

Texture: The texture of the product is quite soft and emollient. I see most brow pencils to be kind of dry with lower pigmentation. I presume this is to ensure that the effect of filling looks more natural and you don’t go over board. However, this pencil is quite soft, fairly pigmented, and glides easily without tug or pull; however, it still looks natural on the brow, filling them efficiently. You do not get too much color deposit in one place. Also, I get to use the pencil about a dozen times before I feel the need to sharpen it again. Even when I sharpen, it is only to get the point, and not because the pencil has been used up.
Spoolie

However, I do feel that the softer texture of the product has a bit of a con – post filling in your brows, if you accidentally, end up swiping your hand or finger through the brows, the color is likely to migrate along with your finger. The other day, I did my makeup and stepped out. I was running late, so I thought I would apply lipstick while I was waiting at one of the signals. As I whipped out my lipstick to apply with the help of the rear-view mirror, I suddenly saw that the fleek of my brow extended from its normal point to about another inch down! I was horrified!! Thankfully, I had checked my face in order to apply the lipstick. What if I hadn’t!!! I am perfectly okay walking the mall with two separate shades of eyeshadow on each eye; however, this would have been a big faux pas!

Pigmentation: The pigmentation is great, it shows up easily and adds depth and dimension to my brows while looking very natural. I don’t really need to do multiple swipes.
Swatch on hands

Lasting Power:  Despite being creamy, it stays around for the whole day – about 7-8 hours of wear time.

  • Good-quality spoolie.
  • Decent, minimalistic, efficient packaging.
  • The tip holds shape for a long time – no need for frequent sharpening.

Overall Thoughts:
Having tried high end and budget-friendly options, I wouldn’t say that this is the best product in the market. If you are looking at a budget-friendly option, I would say, go for the Revlon eyebrow pencil (I reviewed it some time back). I feel, that the Revlon one is a better product and at a better price. However, the packaging of this one seems better because of the addition of the spoolie!
