This happens to be my first post for IMBB and I’m super excited as I’m writing this article. Here, I’m going to review the L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Carbon Gloss – Black. I have used this eyeliner for a long time now and I feel I can write an honest review.

Product Description:

Superliner Carbon Gloss is a liquid eyeliner in a special sponge tipped pen for the creation of fine lines or thick, sultry flicks. The intense carbon black colour is applied with precision and ease and dries without smudging. Ophthalmologically tested.

Simple and quick application:  Thanks to its soft and supple sponge tipped pen, Superliner Carbon Gloss gives a quick, easy and uniform application. Create a line as thick or as delicate as you wish. Hold the eyelid taut with your other hand to facilitate application.

A long-lasting precise line:  Superliner Carbon Gloss’ liquid formula allows a fine and precise line. Colour is long-lasting and stays looking intense without smudging.

Price:

Approximately Rs. 570 (I bought it in October 2011).

Shade/Color:  Black.

Finish (on drying): Glossy.

This product has a felt-tip type applicator, which is narrow at the end. This helps in drawing the thinnest of lines with ease.  The pointed felt-tip applicator.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Carbon Gloss:

I bought this last year for a friend’s wedding function, since I was quite bored of using my regular Elle 18 eyeliner, which by the way, is an adorable product, given the price. But coming back to the L’Oreal eyeliner, the store assistant at the L’Oreal counter I went to wasn’t very pleased attending to a customer.  She instead was more interested in piling on the products on herself. So, she just told me that this particular liner is glossy finish and their gel liner is the one with a matte finish. I just picked up this one, paid for it at the counter, and ran straight out of the store.

Next day, while getting ready for office, I happily used this product and was very pleased by the ease of application and the fact that it is an intense black. Also, since I personally prefer matte finishes more than glossy ones, I liked the fact that the end-result of application is not as glossy as I had imagined it to be, but just a few days into using this product, while I was about to leave home for office, something fell into my eye. I had to wash my eye and the eyeliner came off with water. I did not have the time to clean both eyes and re-do my makeup, and I went to the office wearing L’Oreal eyeliner on one eye and Elle 18 eyeliner on the other, Thank God, nobody noticed, though there was quite a difference in the finish of both the eyeliners on my eyes. After that incident, whenever I wore this eyeliner, something or the other led me to washing it off and re-applying.

Pros of L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Carbon Gloss:

• The tapered felt-tip applicator does its job perfectly.
• Super intense black color.
• Cute packaging.
• The flattened applicator offers a good grip and hence the ease in application.
• Does not smudge or flake even 8 hours after application. Suitable to be used for girls with oily eyelids (like me :-D)
• Did not sting or cause irritation to my eyes.

Cons of L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Carbon Gloss:

• It is not water-proof, only water resistant. I personally find this to be a major con, since the product gets washed off every time I need to wash my eyes.
• The price, I would not really like to spend the given price for an eyeliner which is not waterproof.

Will I Buy L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Carbon Gloss Again?

No, only for the fact that it is not waterproof.
